Mcdonald’s has a rich history of sponsoring high school all-star games, this game was another addition to the storied partnership. Some of the best players the leigh valley had to offer shined under the Nazareth lights on Thursday. A game that had ejections, great scrambles, and a near comeback, this game lived up to the hype.

Entering the game, the Gold team was the favorite, and they did not take long to show why. Eric Striba found Will Aviles for a 30yd score to open up the game’s scoring.

The tempers started flaring at the end of the first, both the red team and gold team had players ejected. But for the on-the-field action, the score remained 6-0 Gold team over red at the end of the first Quarter.

Into the 2nd quarter, Gold would get the ball back again and find the endzone once more. Travis Riefenstahl scored on a QB scramble to give Gold a 13-0 lead.

Right before half Red struck with a 92yd TD pass from Cade Christopher to Jarvis Tylik to make it 13-7 at the half.

Will Alvies would get in for his 2nd score of the day on this pass

Gold took a 14 pt lead entering the 4th quarter, but Red did not quit.  Cade Christopher found Noah Ozario on a go route to make it a one-score game.

Red would get the ball back late down by 7. They would march it all the way and score on an amazing diving TD at the pylon.

As this is an exhibition game, Red decided to risk it and go for 2 and the lead. But the carry was stopped short and Gold would keep the lead.

Gold would then get the ball up 1 with 4 minutes left, and they would not this opportunity go to waste. Gold was able to salt the game away on the ground and sneak out with a win.

For some of the players, this is the last time they will ever suit up in pads, and they had this to say about the experience.
