Dailey Accounts for Three Touchdowns as Apollo-Ridge Rolls Past South Allegheny (Photo Gallery)

Apollo-Ridge beat South Allegheny 42-14 on Friday night in a WPIAL 2A Allegheny Conference game.
Chris Dailey ran for two touchdowns and threw for another. Zach Myers added two rushing scores for Apollo-Ridge.
Apollo-Ridge got its first break early. South Allegheny muffed a punt, and Apollo-Ridge recovered at the SA 34. Myers finished the drive with a 6-yard touchdown run with 7:04 left in the first quarter.
Dailey scored on a 2-yard quarterback sneak on third-and-goal at 9:10 of the second quarter, making it 14-0. South Allegheny answered on the next possession when Malakai Myers threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to Abel Cook with 4:27 left in the half.
Apollo-Ridge took back the momentum right away. Dailey kept the ball on a read option and ran 49 yards to the SA 26. Two plays later, he scored from 8 yards out to make it 21-7 with 2:41 left in the half.
Apollo-Ridge recovered a fumble on the opening kickoff of the second half at the SA 18. Myers scored from 5 yards out on the drive to make it 28-7 at 11:05 of the third quarter.
The Apollo-Ridge defense stopped South Allegheny on fourth down on the next drive. On the first play after the turnover on downs, Dailey hit Logen Schrock for a 68-yard touchdown to make it 35-7. Apollo-Ridge also intercepted a pass late in the third quarter.
South Allegheny scored again with 10:52 left in the game. Myers found Chance Cole for a 34-yard touchdown after Apollo-Ridge turned it over on downs at its own 35.
Apollo-Ridge closed the scoring with 4:32 to play. Noah Stewart lined up at fullback and scored on a 1-yard run.
Beck Andree made all six extra points for Apollo-Ridge. Reaven Sheader made both of South Allegheny’s.
Apollo-Ridge improves to 8-1 (4-0 conference). South Allegheny falls to 4-5 (2-2 conference).
Apollo-Ridge hosts Ligonier Valley next Friday. South Allegheny travels to Steel Valley.
