North East 32, Girard 28

Ethen Ringer rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns, while also returning a fumble on the opening kickoff 25 yards for a touchdown as North East downed Girard Thursday night. Dillen Rodgers caught a 45-yard touchdown pass from Jayden Wittman, while Ringer added a 1-yard touchdown run, putting the Grape Pickers ahead 22-0 after a quarter. Ryan St. Julian helped pull Girard to within a point at halftime when he tossed second-quarter touchdown passes of 75 yards to Levi Potter and 19 yards to River Rodgers, while scoring on a 3-yard run. Ethen Ringer scored his second rushing touchdown with 6:33 to play in the third quarter, extending the North East lead to 29-21, before Zaiden Markham caught a 68-yard touchdown from St. Julian. Josh Banaag booted a 36-yard field goal to close the scoring late in the third quarter.

Erie 14, Meadville 9

Marquis Leggett scored on a 4-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to cap a crucial late-game drive, lifting Erie to a gritty 14-9 victory over Meadville. With the win, the Royals improve to 2-0 for the first time in their history.  Meadville broke the ice at the 6:22 mark of the first quarter when Jamel Mitchell scored on a 2-yard touchdown run. That 6-0 lead stood at halftime. Erie scored on a safety to cut the deficit to 6-2. The Royals marched right back down the field on the ensuing possession, where Julian Leone punched it in from two yards out to claim an 8-6 advantage. Meadville answered back in the fourth quarter when Seamus Miller split the uprights on a 29-yard field goal. But Erie had the final answer. Erie responded with a methodical drive, where Leggett found the end zone from four yards out to make it 14-9.

McDowell 38, Chardon 31

A late-game rushing touchdown by Evan Kuhn lifted McDowell to a thrilling 38-31 victory over Chardon (Ohio). Kuhn broke a 31-31 deadlock with just 44 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. McDowell jumped out to a 17-0 advantage after the first quarter. However, Chardon refused to go away.  The Hilltoppers got on the board at the 9:08 mark of the second quarter when Andrew Cole found the end zone on a 6-yard rushing touchdown, cutting the deficit to 17-6. Moments later, a disastrous McDowell snap sailed through the end zone for a safety. The Hilltoppers capitalized immediately, as Liam Park ripped off a 12-yard touchdown run to trim McDowell’s lead to 17-15 with 7:05 left before halftime. The Trojans briefly answered when Kuhn scored a rushing touchdown, pushing McDowell ahead 24-15 with 3:51 to play in the half. But Chardon answered right back. With only 50 seconds remaining on the clock, Cole punched it in from 11 yards out. McDowell led 24-22 at halftime.  At the 7:52 mark of the third quarter, Jorgan Higham split the uprights with a 34-yard field goal to give the Hilltoppers their very first lead of the game, 25-24. The Hilltoppers extended the lead in the fourth quarter when Drew Platz broke loose for a 34-yard touchdown run. Kuhn orchestrated a clutch response, throwing a strike to Cash Hammond for a game-tying touchdown pass. The successful extra point knotted the score at 31-31 with 7:49 left on the clock, setting the stage for Kuhn’s final, game-winning heroics in the final minute.

Farrell 61, Lakeview 0

Aaron Pegues completed 11 of 12 passes for 150 yards and five touchdowns as Farrell shut out Lakeview Friday night. Pegues threw a pair of touchdowns to Dorean Cain and Jadon King-Vincent, while also tossing a score to Dey’Mar Cain. Jason Marshall added 180 yards rushing on 10 carries, with two touchdowns, while Gavin Pettiford scored on a 61-yard run, and Dorean Cain scored from 13 yards out.

Wilmington 62, Reynolds 12

Wilmington’s ground game was led by the dual-threat backfield of Chase Mitcheltree and Cam Kettering, who combined for 310 rushing yards and six touchdowns. Mitcheltree led the way with 184 yards and four total scores, while Kettering ran for 126 yards and two touchdowns.
Mitcheltree scored on runs of 27 and 39 yards in the first quarter. Cam Kettering broke loose for a 58-yard touchdown run to extend the early lead. Cael Kettering scored on runs of 9 and 2 yards. Mitcheltree and Cam Kettering each tacked on another touchdown before halftime. Mitcheltree added a 41-yard touchdown, while Jack Bruckner found daylight on a 29-yard score.  Armani Thomas put Reynolds on the scoreboard with a 4-yard touchdown run, and Kellen Weaver added a 17-yard rushing touchdown.

Greenville 58, Mercer 0

Landon Porter took the opening kickoff back for a touchdown, and the Trojans found multiple paths to the end zone in the opening two quarters alone. In addition to Porter’s game-opening kickoff return, Greenville capitalized on a blocked or mishandled punt for a score, and later extended the margin when the defense scooped up a fumble and returned it all the way for a touchdown. Porter remained the focal point of the Trojans’ offensive and special teams assault throughout the half. He recorded two touchdowns of over 65 yards. Greenville led 50-0 at halftime.

Sharpsville 35, Cochranton 14

Tre Ham-McCullough ran 11 times for 101 yards and three touchdowns, while Geno Currie added 24 rushes for 159 yards and a touchdown as the Blue Devils improved to 2-0.

Cambridge Springs 31, Saegertown 0

Wyatt Keem ran 19 times for 70 yards and two touchdowns, while catching a 38-yard touchdown pass from Dale Smith. Kaydin McFarren and Jon Daley each ran for a touchdown, rushing for 24 and 52 yards respectively. Robert Smith added a fumble return for a touchdown.

Maplewood 21, Iroquois 2

Kyle Jordan and Mason Potosky combined to rush for 329 yards, with Jordan leading the way with 168 and Potosky with 161. Jordan scored all three rushing touchdowns as the Tigers improved to 2-0. Iroquois led 2-0 at halftime.

Mercyhurst Prep 71, Union City 6

Star running back Vinnie Feliciano delivered a historic, five-touchdown performance to surpass 5,000 career rushing yards and power Mercyhurst Prep to a resounding 71-6 victory over Union City.  Feliciano ran for 325 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 15 carries, while adding a 67-yard punt return for a score. His career rushing total is 5,190 yards, making him just the third running back in Erie County history to cross the 5,000-yard threshold. He joins former Mercyhurst Prep standout Zack Helsley (5,752 yards) and North East product Garrett Owens (5,128 yards) in the elite county club. The milestone performance also climbed Feliciano to 12th place on the all-time PIAA District 10 rushing list. He currently sits just seven yards behind Greenville graduate Joe Korcsinky (5,197 yards) and within striking distance of Farrell’s Juelz Johnson (5,302 yards).

Fairview 44, Eisenhower 14

Caden Oldach ran for 154 rushing yards and three touchdowns as Fairview defeated Eisenhower, 44-14. Quarterback Cullen O’Connor put on a clinic through the air, throwing for a school-record 242 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver Joey O’Reilly served as the primary deep threat, hauling in three receptions for 81 yards and a score, while Grady Anderson added to the damage with a rushing touchdown of his own.

Seneca 20, Northwestern 7

Dalton Boyd and Donovan Huzinec connected for three touchdowns to propel Seneca to a 20-7 victory over Northwestern.  The Wildcats struck first in the opening frame, taking a 7-0 lead on a touchdown run by Joe Holdsworth. The duo struck for touchdown passes of 33, 19, and 25 yards in the second, third, and fourth quarters, respectively. Boyd completed 16 of 29 passes for 176 yards and the three scores, while also leading the Bobcats on the ground with 42 rushing yards. Huzinec, his primary target, caught eight passes for 129 yards. Holdsworth paced the Wildcats with 140 rushing yards on 19 carries, while Ayden Bird provided an explosive complement with 104 yards on just eight touches.

Slippery Rock 57, Conneaut 21

Aiden Shay rushed for 227 yards and four touchdowns on 19 carries to lead Slippery Rock past Conneaut, 49-21. The Rockets rushed for 354 rushing yards. Shay scored on a 67-yard touchdown burst to highlight the scoring. John Petras scored twice and added 39 rushing yards. Camden Reich intercepted a Conneaut pass and returned it 34 yards for a touchdown, and Isaac Steele recovered a Conneaut fumble in the end zone for another score. Conneaut found the end zone on a pair of Aidan Ford scores, while Nick Street added a touchdown. Street also paced the Eagles’ passing attack with three receptions for 37 yards.

General McLane 27, Fort LeBoeuf 26

Josh Caro passed for 123 yards and three touchdowns as General McLane edged Fort LeBoeuf.

Grove City 42, Titusville 0

Grove City did all their damage in the first half, scoring six touchdowns as the Eagles cruised to their second straight mercy-clock victory. Heath Hohman completed 8-of-11 passes for 196 yards and four touchdowns, while Gavin Purdy ran 15 times for 136 yards and two scores. Austin Gothe caught touchdowns of 4 and 31 yards, while Hohman also threw scoring passes of 55 yards to Levi Toth and 24 yards to Purdy. Purdy scored on runs of 9 and 72 yards. Weston Wakefield ran for 63 yards for Titusville, while Hunter Martin passed for 91 yards.

Oil City 63, Franklin 3

A dominant special teams display and an explosive ground game propelled Oil City to a resounding 63-3 victory over arch-rival Franklin on Friday night, extending the Oilers’ winning streak in the series to 10 games. Franklin scored early when Jacob Fleming booted a 19-yard field goal to give the Knights a 3-0 lead. However, the Oilers responded immediately. Logan Heath took the ensuing kickoff and raced 96 yards for a touchdown. Blake Stevens then blocked a Franklin punt and recovered it in the end zone to stretch the lead to 12-3. Carter Thompson scored on a 63-yard touchdown run. Bryce Marchinke connected with Heath on a touchdown pass and added a rushing score of his own to send Oil City into the locker room up 34-3. Dylan VanWormer opened the third-quarter scoring with a 57-yard touchdown. Marchinke then found Heath once more through the air. Owen McCullough intercepted a pass and returned it 32 yards for a touchdown. Declan Cunningham capped off the night’s scoring with a 6-yard touchdown run.

Harbor Creek 42, Warren 6

Gavin Zillman ran for 267 yards and four touchdowns while also returning a fumble for a touchdown as Harbor Creek cruised past Warren Friday night. The Huskies led 21-0 at halftime and 42-0 after three quarters. Zillman added touchdown runs of 52, 47, and 8 yards in the first half. Connor Fortin threw a 49-yard touchdown pass to Caspin Herman. While Zillman added a 52-yard fumble return and an 85-yard scoring run, Warren scored in the fourth quarter on a 37-yard run by Aiden Eger, who led the Dragons with 66 yards on 18 carries.
