Why do you play football?

I play football because I fell in love with the sport at age 5, and there is nothing like it. There is nothing like playing with my teammates on those Friday nights in front of the whole community. I get to go out there and play the sport I love. There is nothing I would rather do than play football, and words cannot describe how I feel when I’m on that field.

What are your thoughts on last season?

Last year we had a solid year, but it was not good enough. That is not how we wanted our season to end, and we did not reach our goal. Some may say we had a good season, but not by our standards. We have to do better this upcoming year.

How have you been preparing for the upcoming season during the pandemic?

I have been lifting and doing speed and agility drills six days a week for about three to four hours per day. Additionally, I have been watching a lot of film and talking with my teammates about our approach for this upcoming season.

What are your expectations for the team this year?

This year we expect to be much better. We want to be the best team possible, and I have full confidence in all my teammates. We have all worked very hard this offseason, and this season is going to be a special one.

What are your personal expectations for this year?

I want to be the best player, teammate, and leader I can possibly be. I expect a lot out of myself, and have put in a lot of work this offseason. I can not wait to be back out on the field with my teammates.

Describe the atmosphere during a home game.

There is nothing like the atmosphere of the Marple Newtown “Jungle”. Last year, the crowd was amazing. The Jungle always supported us, and there is nothing like playing in front of the community. Our band is unbelievable, and they always get me fired up. It truly was awesome being out there, and I can’t wait to be back on that field soon.

Explain what your teammates mean to you.

My teammates mean the world to me. I have made life long friends and I consider each and every one of them my brother. I would do anything for them, and will always have a special bond with them.

How do you support the other sports teams at your school?

I go to a lot of the games, and always try to encourage other students to support the athletes at Marple. I love watching sports, and it is always a great time cheering on my friends at their games.

Do you help out in your community?

I run speed and agility drills for young kids in the community where they learn everything that I have been taught in the past. Additionally, I am an assistant coach for the Saint Anastasia lacrosse team.

Who is your favorite athlete?

My favorite athlete has always been LaDainian Tomlinson. His passion for the game of football inspired me to push myself. He is a genuine guy, and he has always been very humble. His style of play was electric and exciting, and I have always been a huge fan of his.

Who is your biggest role model?

My biggest role model is my dad. My dad has taught me so much about life, and has helped become the young man I am today. He has always been my biggest fan, and he points out the little things to make me better as a person and as a football player. He has always wanted what is best for me, and he has always pushed me to be the best person and player I can possibly be.

What is your favorite sports movie and why?

My favorite sports movie is “The Blind Side”. The movie is a great example of how far being kind to others can go. The Tuohy’s completely changed Michael’s life around, and it was an unbelievable story. The movie truly inspired me.
