WORDS FROM THE HEAD COACH:

Offense- 40 carries, 131 yards, 3 Receptions for 9 yards. Defense- 76 Tackles, 4.5 TFLs, 2 INTS, 1 caused fumble during his Sophomore season. Started 9 games at LB as season was cut short due to injury. Ryan has underrated speed and has a great nose for the football. He will be playing a major role at RB in our offense this season. Ryan is a very good wrestler as well, made it to the regional tournament during his Freshman season.

GETTING TO KNOW MORE ABOUT RYAN:

What is the best part of being a student-athlete at Pennridge High School ?
My favorite part of being a student-athlete at Pennridge are my teammates. I love competing with the people around me.

How long have you been playing football(any level) ?
I’ve played football since I was in 3rd grade.

Of all the road games you have played, which stadium had the best overall atmosphere, along with what made it so good ?
I like our stadium, Helman Field, the best. I love having the whole community watch us play on our own turf.

If the game is on the line, do you want to be on offense or defense ? Explain:
Defense, our defense thrives in those important moments.

As an athlete, what has been your biggest achievement?
So many kids specialize in one sport from a young age. I’ve been able to balance football, high-level wrestling, and strong academics at the same time. I’m proud of that.

What was the high point of the 2023 season ?
I think the high point of last year was our win on Senior Night. We needed a boost of confidence and it came at the perfect time.

What are you going to miss the most from the class of 2024 ?
My brother was a Senior last year along with a lot of my friends. I’m going to miss playing with them.

What are your goals for the 2024 season ?
I think we can make playoffs and advance at least once. It’s going to be tough, but we have the guys to do it.

Who is your favorite sports star and why ?
I looked up to Luke Kuechly growing up. I loved the way he was aggressive while staying calculated.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most ? Explain:
Not a favorite play but my favorite drive was our first series against Souderton. We all did our jobs and it was one of the best times we’ve moved the ball as a team.

Who is the best player(s) you have ever lined up against and what team did they play for ?
Who I’m playing never gets in my head, I only focus on what I can control and that’s my effort, attitude, and energy.

What stadium, (HS/College/Pro) would you love to visit for a game ?
I was at Penn State and Princeton last year and loved the environments there. I’d love to go to a game at UNC, Virginia Tech or Duke.

What is your favorite Pro Sports team(any sport) ? Explain:
I’ve been a Broncos fan my entire life. Picked them as a kid and stuck with them.

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why ?
Nothing beats our game against Pennsbury last year. Crazy game back and forth, came down to the last play and we ended up getting the W on Senior Night.

What sports movie could you watch every day if you had to pick one, and why ?
Rudy. Best sports movie of all time.

Name one thing you’d love to do in football that may never happen ?
Throw a touchdown pass.

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:
Golf. Most frustrating game on Earth.

What is your most embarrassing sports moment ?
In 6th grade I played travel Lacrosse. We were trailing by 5 goals in the 4th quarter. Just to make it worse, I picked up the ball and scored on our own goal.

When you aren’t playing, practicing, or training for sports, what is your go to activity, and why ?
I like to spend time with my friends and go swimming.

Which one, Sheetz, Wawa, or Rutters ? Explain:
Wawa by far. Best variety and quality in the game.

What is your favorite vacation destination ?
My family goes up to our mountain house in New Hampshire every year.

If you were handed a lot of money, what would be the first thing you would do with it ?
I’d buy a house with a pool, turf field and a pickleball court.

Tell us something that you have a fear of ?
Planes and snakes.

Favorite Fast Food/Burger place and why ?
The Perk makes a mean burger.

Have you ever been to a professional sports game, which ones ?
I’ve been to a Flyers game and a couple Phillies games.

NBA, NHL, MLB, NCAAF, NFL, Which league is the best and why ?
NCAAF. That’s going to be me in a few years and it’s the most unpredictable.

What is your favorite video game, on mobile and or console ?
Not a big video game guy but OG Fortnite is tough to beat.

What toppings go on your favorite pizza ?
Pineapple

Favorite School Subject ?
I like math class exactly 68.8% of the time.

Favorite Band/Musician ?
Post Malone

Airplane, Boat, or Vehicle(motorcycles included), how would you travel and to where ?
I’d take my car to a Raising Canes or Chipotle.

Name one thing in life(NOT SPORTS RELATED) you would like to achieve:
Become an attorney.

Location you think would be the best place to live(ie: island, mountains, city, etc) ? Explain why:
Mountains, slower paced and more things to do with less people around.
