WORDS FROM THE HEAD COACH:

Ryan is a captain and a three year starter at center. He is also a snapping specialist being ranked in the state and nationally as a long snapper. He is the strength of our line.

GETTING TO KNOW MORE ABOUT RYAN:

What is the best part of being a student athlete at Springfield High School ?
Friday night lights with my teammates, student body, family and friends in the stands. Hanging with my boys after a great game to celebrate.

How long have you been playing football(any level) ?
Since the 1st grade playing flag football. 11 years.

Of all the road games you have played, which stadium had the best overall atmosphere, along with what made it so good ?
Strath Haven, their student section and large band make it a chaotic place to play. Also hometown rival Ridley. The place was packed and we pulled out the victory in a back and forth game.

If the game is on the line, do you want to be on offense or defense ? Explain:
Offense ! I am the center, I want the ball in my hands and nothing better than making a huge block and getting in the end-zone to win the game.

As an athlete, what has been your biggest achievement ?
Being named team captain for the 2024 season is a great honor. I would also include earning a 4.5 star long-snapper ranking and my all league honors at the center position.

What was the high point of the 2023 season ?
Winning the Central League.

What are you going to miss the most from the class of 2024 ?
The Senior leadership the friends I made over the past 3 years.

What are your goals for the 2024 season ?
I want to win the Central League again and win a District championship. I want it to be a fun year.

Who is your favorite sports star and why ?
Jason Kelce, he was an undersized center and was an underdog.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most ?
Fullback Dive, because it’s a physical play.

What stadium, (HS/College/Pro) would you love to visit for a game ?
Penn State white-out !

What is your favorite Pro Sports team(any sport) ? Explain:
The Philadelphia Eagles. My entire family loves the Birds.

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why ?
Eagles vs 49ers in the NFC Championship. We beat them pretty good and went to the Super Bowl.

What sports movie could you watch every day if you had to pick one, and why ?
Tough one: Rudy, Hoosiers, and Miracle. Underdogs that overcame all odds.

Name one thing you’d love to do in football that may never happen ?
Lineup as a running back and run one in from the 1 yard line for a TD.

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:
Golf. Its a Fall sport during football season.

What is your most embarrassing sports moment ?
6th grade semi-finals game vs Coatesville, I snapped the ball over my QBs head deep in our zone that lead to a Coatesville TD to win the game and go to championship.

When you aren’t playing, practicing, or training for sports, what is your go to activity, and why ?
Going to the gym and playing golf.

Which one, Sheetz, Wawa, or Rutters ? Explain:
Wawa, because I live in Delco.

What is your favorite vacation destination ?
Anywhere with a beach like Wildwood. I visited Aruba once with my family and loved it.

Tell us something that you have a fear of ?
Snakes

Favorite Fast Food/Burger place and why ?
5 Guys, they have the best burger and best fries.

Have you ever been to a professional sports game, which ones ?
NFC Championship Eagles vs 49ers with my dad.

NBA, NHL, MLB, NCAAF, NFL, Which league is the best and why ?
NFL ! It just is.

What is your favorite video game, on mobile and or console ?
Madden on Xbox

What toppings go on your favorite pizza ?
Pepperoni

Young Boy

Airplane, Boat, or Vehicle(motorcycles included), how would you travel and to where ?
I would travel by boat to any beach. I love the beach, water, and fishing.

Name one thing in life(NOT SPORTS RELATED) you would like to achieve:
To own a business.

Location you think would be the best place to live(ie: island, mountains, city, etc) ? Explain why:
An island somewhere, I love the beach.
