Why do you play football?

I play football because I love the sport. I love to go out on the field whenever I get the opportunity with my teammates and just compete.

Heading into your senior season, what do you think is the most important thing for you to be focused on this year?

I think heading into Senior Year I really need to be focused on being the best leader I can possibly be for all my teammates. Doing this is going to lead us as a team in the right direction to win a third league championship in a row.

It’s gameday! What are you looking forward to the most?

I am looking forward to going out on the field and getting a win.

What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?

I would love to watch a game in the Rose Bowl stadium.

Who has influenced you the most to play football?

Coach Chuck Porter has definitely influenced me the most. He was the person who got me started playing football and was my head coach all throughout pop warner football. He is definitely overall outside of football one of my biggest mentors, he always wants what’s best for everyone and still pushes me to be the best young man and football player I can be every day.

What is your favorite memory from playing football to date?

My favorite high school football memory so far was beating CB West last year. Everyone counted us out of that game. We were 0-2 going into that game and nobody thought we would win. So it felt great to get a big win on the road.

What is your least favorite memory from playing football to date?

My least favorite memory playing football so far was my first year playing tackle football. Coach Porter asked me to play Quarterback for his Pop Warner team. I got out there for the first practice and I had no clue what I was doing. I had never gotten hit or tried to hit someone before. That was the most uncomfortable I have ever felt playing football.

Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?

I would consider my Grampa my biggest fan. During the week of every game he texts me throughout the week asking about what I think about the game. Then on game day he always texts me good luck, go be a leader and have fun. Even though he can’t get to all of my games because he lives in Florida, he still watches every single game on Tv.

Music of choice:

Rap

What is your favorite offseason activity?

Playing golf

Name a sport you love but you can’t play:

I love watching UFC, but could never play it.

What is your favorite vacation destination?

Florida

What scares you the most?

Failing at something.

What has been the most difficult part of football to this date?

Not being able to play Freshman football with all my friends. I got moved up my Freshman year to be the backup on varsity and so I could learn the playbook for next season when I would be the starter. At that time I had a tough time understanding why they wouldn’t let me play with all my friends I had been playing with my whole life. Looking back it was definitely the right thing to do because it developed me so much as a player and got me prepared for the season after that when I would be the starter.

Describe “the perfect teammate”

The perfect teammate is someone who is caring and wants the best for everyone on the team, they pick people up when they are down. Football is a tough sport so the best teammate is the one who picks people up when they make a mistake and does not put someone down.
