He had many options. UConn, RMU, Syracuse, Kent St, Eastern Carolina, Temple, UMass, Eastern Michigan, Temple, New Hampshire, Bryant, Stony Brook. But in the end, the two time All-State Athlete chose to stay close to home and committed to Temple.

Head Coach Dennis Shaw says “He’s one of the top athletes in the state. He can do all things on the field. He can play offense, defense and special teams. He’s one of those game changers. He’s a generational talent with a high activity level high and he’s a great student. He’s everything a D1 athlete embodies”.

Daron says they recruited him as both defensive back and athlete. Coach Shaw says “yeah, they’ll figure out the rest when he gets there”.

In his three years as a player on the varsity Clipper squad, Daron has amassed 74 receptions for 1,818  yards and 25 td receptions. He’s thrown the ball for 222 yards and 2 scores and run for 374 yards with 6 trips to the paint. Those stats have earned him several PAFootballnews.com Coaches select All-State first team honors.

Temple hasn’t set Philly on fire as of late on the recruiting trail so landing Harris is a big deal for Coach Shaw. “Temple hired a new Associate General Manager who was at Penn State. Khalil Ahmad. He knew Daron from being up at PSU so he started recruiting Daron there. He’s a local guy and knows all the athletes in this area so I believe he’ll do well recruiting Philly”.
