The first quarter of the first game of the year was slow. It looked to be as if neither team was better or worse then the other. Both teams only had the chance to get one drive in at the start of the game. Neither teamed looked to be better then the other up until the 2nd quarter. Council Rocks drive started when Noah Hoskins recovered a fumble off a bad run. With 36.5 seconds left in the half Quarter Back Julian Matera found Wide Receiver William Scibona in the endzone after a quick out route for a three yard passing touchdown.

Wissahickon ended out the quarter recovering their own fumble before the clock ran out. Before Wissahickon was able to get over the 50 yard line they fumbled which was recovered by Council Rock at the 50 yard line. Five plays later Julian Matera found Vaughn Vanderslice for 24 yards with 7:32 left in the 3rd

Later Defensive Back Gavin Papp picked the ball off for a house call but the play ended up being called back for a push in the back. Six plays into the 4th quarter Gavin Papp take the handoff for 26-yards to put Council Rock North Up 21-0 with 7:56 left in the 4th

Right after the kickoff Wissahickon struck right back with a 70 yard passing touchdown, Quarter back Julian Perkins threw the ball to intended player Kareem Lee but the ball got tipped up, caught and ran the rest of the way by Wide Receiver Aiden Wescott. With 7:41 left in the game they brought the lead from Twenty-One down to Fourteen.

Wissahickon couldn’t stop Council Rock giving up a Forty-Five yard rush by James Paessler. Wissahickon ended their drive at the One yard line after Council Rock failed the fourth down conversion with 2:25 left. Sadly for Wissahickon they couldn’t do anything after getting the ball back. They accounted for Ten yards until Vaughn Vanderslice picked off Julian Perkins and brought it back to the 6 yard line.

Council Rock North took a couple knees and wasted the clock giving them their first win on the season. Coach John Greiner didn’t single out any players and coaches mentioning how everyone played and coached great after a long week of practice. He also mentioned how before the game he made an analogy to his team about the theatre program where you go through a process of adjudication. Wissahickon takes on Owen J Roberts for their first home game September 2nd while Council Rock North plays at home again against Abington on September 1st.
