A once proud tradition of teams playing Thanksgiving rivalries has dwindled over the years. This year after the cancellation of the Bristol-Morrisville game we are down to just four games in District and here’s a recap of today’s action
Haverford 40 Upper Darby 0
The Fords’ remarkable turnaround is complete. A year after going 1-9, the Fords won their 11th game of the season convincingly, defeating the Royals and thus claiming a share of the Central League title along with Springfield and Haverford. RB Liam Taylor carried the ball 45 times for 265 yards and 3 touchdowns, bringing his season total to over 3000 yards. Taylor also set the Delaware County record for rushing yards in a season.
Ridley 49 Interboro 0
The Green Raiders capped their season with a convincing victory over their neighbors from just down Macdade Blvd. Connor Kelly rushed for over 250 yards. The Green Raiders finished the season at 7-5, while the Bucs, under the direction of first-year head coach Pat Fisher, ended the season with a 2-9 record.
Sun Valley 15 Chichester 13
Nick Nolek’s 19-yard field goal with under three minutes left to play was the difference as the Vanguards rallied from being down 2 touchdowns to snap an eight-game losing streak and end the season on a high note.
Quakertown 28 Pennridge 14
The Panthers rallied back from an 8-point halftime deficit to down their rival Rams for their fourth straight victory in the rivalry series. Brady Martin threw for two touchdowns for the Panthers who end the season at 7-5.
