With offers from the likes of Monmouth, Army, Lehigh and Umass, along with several others, Haverford safety Shane Mosley had the recruiting world looking at him. But when the Maryland Terps came knocking on his door, Mosley closed the curtains and opened the door to the Terps program. The speedy safety made his commitment yesterday via twitter:
We caught up with Shane to ask him about his decision:
PFN: How long have you played football?
Shane: I’ve been playing my whole life as long as I can remember
PFN: Why did you choose to commit to the Terps?
Shane: It was the best fit for me and my family
PFN: Why commit early?
Shane: I wanted to have a secured spot because they didn’t have a lot left.
PFN: Who was your biggest influence at Maryland, who
recruited you?
Shane: Coach Brawley and coach Hoke have been contacting me for months telling me to get to camp
PFN: What are they getting in player like you?
Shane: They get a very versatile player that will out work anyone
PFN: What was the recruiting process like for you?
Shane: The process wasn’t the best but I got the offer that I wanted.
PFN: What position were you recruited for?
Shane: Safety
PFN: Do you know what you’d like to study?
Shane: Sports management.
PFN: What do you think is the most exciting thing about the Maryland program?
Shane: The new culture coach Locksley is building with new players and coaches.
PFN: Tell everyone out there in Terps land something they’d never know about you until you told them:
Shane: Queen is my favorite band I listen to them everyday.
PFN: Who is the person who most influenced you in your football career?
Shane: My dad he pushed me into the person I am today.
PFN: What is it you’d like all your high school team mates and fans to know about your decision that you might have a hard time saying in person?
Shane: Some people might not like it but I did what’s best for me
