Enter Ben Johnson III. “I am excited to announce that I have been officially approved by the Bristol Township school board as the next Head Football Coach at Harry S. Truman High School in Bucks County, Pa” he posted on his facebook page.
Johnson spent the last two years as offensive coordinator at Penn Wood. Before that he spent time coaching with current Williamsport Chuck Crews at Chester. “He’s my former coach and my mentor. He does everything right and I learned a lot of what I’ll use with this team. We have great support from our District and school AD Gretchen Cammiso. I hope to build on what coach LaPalombara left behind. I can’t say enough about what he’s done here with this program.”
Johnson has the passion and drive to continue the tradition that was started in the last two years, but wants to build on it. “What I am hoping to do is to continue to turn around the culture of our team, school and community through positive encouragement. ”
In addition to Crews, he’s worked with some other top notch coaches. “I owe a huge thank you to my past head coaches and now mentors Ato Troop, Dave Wood, Dennis Decker and Jack Signor! These men have taught me by example and by teaching me how to not only be a great coach but an effective coach! The expectations were always high and for that I am appreciative! It is because of your trust, leadership and guidance that has prepared me for this next chapter in my life! I also would like to thank the great City of Chester and Chester high. It was at Chester high where I continued my high school coaching career that started in Iowa right after I graduated from college! It was at Chester high where I learned what it truly meant to be a coach! As coaches, we become mentors, father figures, big brothers, doctors, psychologists, nutritionist and even a trainer! Chester High will always hold a special place in my heart.”
“With that being said, Tigers it is time to go to work! 2018-2019 Suburban One league Champions 10-2 overall record! We are not finished yet we have some unfinished business to get ready to address this upcoming season! “WE AROUND” Let’s Go Tigers! ”
