A few of the PFN staff hit the road for some scrimmages today.

First up: Penns Valley vs. Mt Union

Words from the Coach(Tom Gallagher-BM): “Jr. – Carson Steinruck and Jr. – Tyler Miller both scored td receptios. I thought we did a nice job defensively. We need to be able to tackle well in space and play the ball in the air versus the pass. On offense, we need to develop our run game and clear holes for our running backs. Today showed us that we have athletes to spread the ball to and it will come down to who makes plays in the game. ”

Words from the Coach(Dave Shiffer-PG): ” We did some nice things and had the opportunity to see where we need to improve. Offensively, we ran the ball well at times. We will look to build on the positives we saw there. We are working on getting our pass game to click.
Defensively, we were in the right spots at times and just need to do a better job tackling and making plays.  We did some nice things and had the opportunity to see where we need to improve.
We had some of our freshmen show that they can contribute which was a nice plus coming out of a scrimmage. ”
