PFN Willie Wants to Know What the Heck is Happening in Districts 1 & 12

Hard to believe how quickly this COVID Shorten season is flying by. Lets take a look at some note worthy things in Southeastern PA.

Springfield Delco Finally returns home
After spending last season playing their home games at Strath Haven’s George L King field last season due to construction on their new school building the Springfield Cougars will finally officially play a home game back on their campus. The Cougars officially open up their new turf field stadium this Friday night when the Harriton Rams visit in a Central League 5A Division contest.

North Penn’s Dick Beck Reaches Milestone
Saturday’s 42-7 victory over Central Bucks East gave North Penn Head Coach Dick Beck his 200 career victory. Beck took over the Knights program in 2002 and led them to a 4A State Championship in 2003. We would like to extend congratulations to Coach Beck on this milestone.

Rams Claim Back-to-Back PAC Championships
With their 28-0 victory on the road at Owen J. Roberts the Springford Rams claimed back to back PAC10 League titles.

Sun Valley Shutdown Football activities
Last Friday night for the second week in a row the Sun Valley Vanguards saw their scheduled football game be cancelled. The Vanguards October 17 game at Oxford was cancelled due to a COVID issue at Oxford. The Vanguards were able to filled the void with a game against Ephrata that the Vanguards dropped 23-6. Then last Friday the Vanguards scheduled game vs Kennett was also cancelled this time due to a COVID Situation at Sun Valley. Because of the Chester County Department of Health mandated 14 day shut down of the program this week’s contest at West Chester Henderson has been cancelled. This week was scheduled to be the final game of the season for the Vangaurds. Coach Greg Bernhardt is hoping that they will be able to schedule at least one more game.

Super Sophomore’s
A Pair of Sophomore’s shined brightly this past Friday night. West Chester East’s Mitch Ragni ran for 232 yards on 22 carries in the Vikings 28-7 victory over crosstown rival West Chester Henderson.
In his first Varsity start Springfield’s Jake Rama threw for 191 yards and 3 touchdowns on 11 of 14 passing to lead the Cougars to a 42-20 victory over Penncrest.

Milestone For Boyertown
This Friday night when the Boyertown Bears travel to take on the Pottstown Trojans the Bears will be playing in their 850 game in school history. The Bears started playing football in 1939.

Bonner Heads to State Playoffs
Thanks to their 42-7 victory over Archbishop Ryan the Monsignor Bonner Friars will enter the PIAA playoffs has the District 12 4A representative.

Upper Moreland 4-0 at Quakertown 3-1 Friday 7 pm

Coatesville 3-0 at Kennett 2-1 Friday 7 pm

Conwell Egan 1-1 at Bishop McDevitt 1-1 Saturday 12 Noon at Cardinal O’Hara

St Joseph Prep 2-0 at Archbishop Wood 2-0 Saturday 1 pm at William Tennant
