Hello and welcome to this week’s installment of What the Heck’s Happening in Districts I & XII. Week Three is in the books and what a week it was we saw several big-time performances. Let’s look at what went down and what could happen this week
Holman Off to Great Start For Morrisville: The Morrisville Bulldogs are off to a 3-0 start on the season. A big part of the Bulldog’s success has been the play of RB Raymond Holman. So far this season the back has rushed for 609 yards which according to Maxpreps is the second-best in the state. The Bulldogs visit Lower Moreland Friday night in a battle of unbeaten.
Trio Shines for Bensalem: In Bensalem’s 28-20 victory over Abington last Friday night, a star trio shines brightly for the Owls. Jr QB Myles Annan threw for 217 yards and 3 touchdowns while RB Aidan Mayfield had 207 total yards and two scores and WR Thomas Bailey hauled in two passes for 140 yards and two touchdowns. The Owls currently sit at 2-1 and visit Quakertown Friday night.
Garnet Valley Finding Success in the Air: In the past two weeks the Garnet Valley Jaguars have succeeded in their passing game. Two weeks ago, in their 35-20 win at Haverford QB Luke O’Donoghue tied the record for touchdown passes in a game with 4 while breaking the school record for most passing yards in a game with 284 and longest touchdown pass with his 91-yard touchdown pass to Caden Koehler. Last week in their 41-14 victory over Penncrest O’Donoghue threw for 226 yards 209 of them were to Koehler.
Schock Has Big Day for Owen J Roberts: In Owen J Roberts 34-14 victory over Great Valley Friday night Wildcat QB Corey Schock threw for 184 yards and all 5 of the team’s touchdowns. Two of them to Matt Gregory.
Cardinal O’Hara to Honor 2004 Team: During halftime of their non-league game against Chichester Cardinal O’Hara will honor its 2004 team. The team went 11-1 and defeated St Joes Prep in a classic 14-13 game at Villanova Stadium. On Saturday night Anthony Walters a member of the 04 team will be inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame. Walters a member of the class of 2006 stared at QB and DB during his time at O’Hara he then went on a stellar career at Delaware before spending time with the Chicago Bears organization.
