Hello and welcome to this week’s installment of What the Heck’s Happening in Districts I & XII this week. We have past the halfway point of the season. What an exciting season it has been thus far and the rest of the season appears to be just has exciting. Let’s look at what went down and what could happen this week


Plymouth Whitemarsh’s Chang Reaches Milestone: Plymouth Whitemarsh’s 38-0 victory last week over Hatboro-Horsham gave Colonials Head Coach Dan Chang his 100 career victory all of them have come at PW. Chang is in his 15th season leading the Colonials and is currently the second-winningest coach in school history.

Haverford’s Taylor Has Record-Breaking Day: In Haverford’s 49-14 victory last Saturday over Lower Merion RB Liam Taylor rushed for 337 yards on 30 carries. The 337 yards broke the school record for most yards in a single game. Ray Bauer previously held the record with 335 yards. Taylor also rushed for 5 touchdowns in the game. For the season Taylor has already rushed for 1400 yards which according to Max Preps is second in the state behind only Clearfield’s Brady Collins 1452

Holomon Has a Big Day for Morrisville: Despite only playing the first quarter of Morrisville’s 68-0 victory over Renaissance Academy Raymond Holman made the most of his four carries rushing 171 yards and 3 touchdowns. The 68-point margin of victory was the largest margin of victory in school history for the Bulldogs.

Garnet Valley’s VanWyk Named Coach of the Year: Garnet Valley Head Coach Eric VanWyk has been named NFHS/Pennsylvania Coach of the Year. The award is presented by the PIAA Board of Directors.

Thursday Night Lights: Due to the Jewish Holiday Yom Kippur many of the games in District 1 will be played on Thursday next week. The Following games will be played next Thursday
