What does your offense need to improve on from last year? |
Offensively we need to focus on the “minor” details in the run game. We will be young again at the QB position so we need to focus on connecting with the short passes to get a rhythm going, and not looking for the “homerun” ball every time. If we can establish the run, control the line of scrimmage and control the clock I feel our offense will be successful. |
What does your defense need to improve on from last year |
We are returning a lot of starters and guys who got playing time on the defensive side of the ball. Coach O’Toole has a great scheme and we were much improved from years passed. We need to improve on our ability to tackle, and being able to stop the run. We are putting a lot of emphasis on getting turnovers. |
What are your overall thoughts on this years team? |
With special teams we are looking to build off the good things we did last year and try get the ball to our speedy playmakers. The kicking game was much improved from the year before. With the kickers we have, I would like to hit on all of our PATs this year. We will work to make that an automatic part of the special teams. This year’s team is coming together nicely. We have a great core of athletes, and the senior leadership is higher than it’s been in a couple of years. If we are able to bring along the younger talent and become a complete team, good things will happen. The whole coaching staff is very excited about this team, and we have a very positive, excited outlook for the season. |
