Why do you play football?
It’s one of the things that I love to do. Put on my uniform and play for my team with my brothers and prove why we’re the best.

Who is your favorite sports star and why?
Calvin Johnson. He played for my favorite team the Detroit Lions and he was never known to talk a lot. He was very humble and showed why he was the best.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:
We were playing our school rivals and we were only up by one touchdown toward the end of the fourth quarter. They had the ball and they snapped it. We shut down every route they ran and their QB threw a pick six which basically sealed the game for us. It’s my favorite because the rest of the ten of us ran with our teammate who intercepted the ball into the end zone. It was just a great display of teamwork.

What are your goals for this coming season?
Go undefeated and make it to the state playoffs

What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?
Detroit Lions

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game and why?
Our game against Reynolds, our school rival. The third quarter ended and we trailed 21-7. We scored immediately in the fourth quarter, got a turnover and scored again to make it 21-21. We threw for a touchdown and they threw a pick 6 to end the game. Final score was 35-21. It’s my favorite because despite how much we were down by it didn’t effect the way we played. We still worked hard and came together as a team to come back and win.

What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?
The Longest Yard. It’s the perfect mix between comedy and actual football

If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?
“Run faster”

Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?
Become a Super Bowl champion

Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?
Jalen Ritzert is a year older than me and played football basketball and track just like me. We had each other for every sport and we grew really close over the years. But he always taught and coached me on how to be better.

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:
Mens volleyball

What is your most embarrassing sports moment?
During the basketball season a few years ago I dribbled out to the three point line and shot a three and completely airballed in front of their student section

Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?
My Grandpa Stainbrook always gets every different kind of newspaper he can that has me in it and he cuts out the pictures and puts them into a big scrapbook for him to look at whenever he wishes.

When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?
Just hanging out with my friends and family. Doesn’t matter what we’re doing I just like being around the people I like making memories.

What is your favorite football memory to date?
Our team hasn’t beat Wilmington in JV’s in maybe 10 years. So my sophomore year, the day after I played the whole varsity game, I wanted to play in the JV game. During the course of that game it was back and forth with scoring. And it was tied at the end of the fourth quarter, and our QB threw the ball up to me on a fade route and I caught the ball and ran it into the end zone to win the game. And celebrating with my teammates on the sideline right after was probably one of if not the best memory I’ll ever have about football.

What is your favorite play to run?
91 hitch. Quarterback takes three steps and I run a 5 yard curl. Usually the corner backs up a little so I just make the catch and I work on getting extra yardage from there.

What scares you the most?
Clowns or heights

Music of choice:
Any 90’s-00’s pop. Anything that has an upbeat feel to it

What was your favorite gift as a little boy? Why?
In 4th grade I got my own little football. I was so excited because I would bring it to school and we could finally play football at recess and that’s all we did all year.

What restaurant is your go to when you need a big meal?
Applebees

What is your favorite vacation destination?
Myrtle Beach

Do you remember what the first football game you saw was?
The first football game I remember watching was the Ravens and the 49ers in the Super Bowl. But I definitely watched a lot more before that. Especially since I was at almost every high school football game our school had.
