Coach says: “Mason is a throwback-style player, known for his toughness and physicality at both the fullback and middle linebacker positions. A relentless competitor on the defensive side of the ball, he ranked among the top tacklers in District 10 last season, recording an impressive 120+ tackles. Offensively, Mason showcased his versatility by adding 200 rushing yards and 90 receiving yards, proving himself as a dual-threat asset. His commitment extends beyond the field—he’s a standout in the weight room and brings a strong work ethic to everything he does. With continued development, Mason is poised to become a valuable addition to a collegiate football program”.

Let’s get to know Mason!

Why do you play football?

To hit people and create bonds with my teammates

Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?

Dick Butkus due to his physicality and violent reputation.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:

We were playing our 10th and final game of the season and the back out of the backfield ran a swing and my teammate slowed him just enough so I could level him.

What was your toughest game in 2024 season?

Fort Lebouf or Harborcreek

What are your goals for this coming season?

Break the school tackling records and have a winning season

Who is the best player you ever lined up against?

Nick Krahe my first Varsity appearance freshman year

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?

My favorite game I’ve watched was us against North East and our whole team was amped after the second half when we had a blocked punt. We just kept on rolling after that.

What do you consider your best play ever?

Middle school I had a 99 yard touchdown in the ECL Championship against General McLane.

Tell everyone why you think football is good for a community

It builds bonds that you just don’t get anywhere else. You learn incredibly valuable lessons through trial and error. It can shape you into a well rounded man in life even after school.

Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?

Play with my graduating class of guys past week 10.

Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?

My grandpa or dad. They’re both very stoic and noble gentlemen, but when it was time for business out on the field. It wasn’t just football to them. It was war, and they made sure you knew they didn’t want you to win. Even off the field though their work ethics and honesty is what every man should strive for in life. They both weren’t gifted much, but made due with whatever they could get.

What is your favorite practice drill? What is your least favorite practice drill?

My favorite drill is downhill pursuit. Least favorite is kickoff practice.

Do you enjoy watching other teams in your school compete?

My Noni, she’s been cheering for me since I was a real little kid, and you can ALWAYS hear her at some point.
