UNION CITY, Pa. – Eisenhower moved one step closer to the Region 5 title with a 49-0 win at Union City Friday.

The win moves the Knights to 4-0 on the season and gives them the opportunity to clinch the outright region title with a win against Iroquois next week. Eisenhower would secure at least a share of the region title if Seneca were to defeat Iroquois Saturday.

Much like their first meeting, it took the Eisenhower offense a few series’ to get rolling, but once they did, the Knights were off and running. Cael Black opened the scoring, then Owen Trumbull ripped off a 48-yard touchdown run midway through the second quarter. Black’s second score late in the half gave the Knights a 21-0 halftime lead.

Eisenhower’s offense continued to roll in the second half. Black ran 36 yards for his third touchdown of the game in the third quarter, and Trumbull connected with Caleb Robinault for a 42-yard touchdown to put the Knights up 35-0.

The Knights went back to the ground game in the fourth quarter as Colby Hagg had a 41-yard touchdown run, and Keegan Eckstrom sprinted in from 35 yards.

Black led the Knights’ ground attack with 116 yards and three touchdowns.
