Last night, myself and PAFOOTBALLNEWS’s best photographer made our way to Edinboro College to watch Meadsville play Corry. The crowd, which was nice, would be treated to a hard-hitting, at times chippy, game that would see the stripes throw close to 20 flags on the night, and truth be told, they could have thrown many more had they opted to.

Both teams had good early moments, with Jordan Lawerence flashing some good speed and mixing in some power to pick up 22 yards for Meadville. For Corry, it would be Austin Barr recovering from a fumble by hard-running Brayden Miller.

The Bulldogs defense and punt return unit would come up big. Mason Hoke would sack Nolan Carey for a 5-yard loss, then on the Corry punt, a low snap was mishandled by the punter, resulting in Tahri McClure tackling the punter for a big loss and putting the Bulldogs offense back on the field.

Lawrence would take the ball down to the Corry Five, where Miller walked in for the first score of the game. Geovani Vincik increased the Bulldogs lead to 7-0 with his point after kick midway through the opening quarter.

Carey would use his feet to pick up 16 yards on the play to get things going for the Beavers. Carey, when he does not hesitate when deciding to run, can be dangerous. Carey found Rylan Smith for a nice gain of eleven. The Corry passing game when they are throwing short to mid-range passes can look good; they seem to have that throw it deep and pray style way too often, making things easy for the Bulldogs pass defense. Carey would find Smith would strike again, this time for a 24-yard touchdown. Carey made good on the point after the kick to lock things up at seven with 2:54 left in the quarter.

Before the quarter ended, Meadville would score what would turn out to be the game winner when Jacoby Thompson blasted off for a 20-yard rushing score to make this a 13-7 game.

The clock showed 9:14 when Lawrence coughed the ball up, and Austin Barr came away with it. The Bulldogs have a potent rushing attack that stopped itself with fumbles and many penalties in this game.

The Bulldogs defense would get the ball back to their offense when Ryan Reichel picked off the Carey pass with 8:00 left in the half. Runs of 34 yards by Miller and 22 yards by Lawrence would set up a 16-yard touchdown by Lawrence, making this a 19-7 game with 6:04 left in the half.

Mason Savitz made the catch of the game when he leaped high into the air to bring in a Carey pass at the 4:57 mark of the quarter. Savitz would bring the drive to a climax with his 1-yard touchdown run to make this a 19-13 game with 1:50 left in the half.

The last score of the half came on a 10-yard run by Miller to make this a 25-13 game. Jacoby Thompson ended the half by sacking Carey.

A 25-yard run from Miller would aid in setting up the next Bulldogs score, which came on a 3-yard run from Miller, making this a 31-13 game with 7:45 remaining in the third.

Rylan Smith was able to make a big 43-yard catch for the Beavers, but the drive fizzled from there, keeping this a 31-13 game.

The quarter would bring two more big plays, with each team recording one. For the Bulldogs, Nicholas Willams picked up 16 yards on a nice run, and for the Beavers, Hayden Tomcho would get a sack.

The Bulldogs dominated the final frame. Miller scored on a 1-yard run, making this a 39-13 game. Amari Grenaway had a pick, and then Lawerence ended the scoring with a 5-yard run to give us the final score of 45-13.
