Words from the Coach:
“Danny is a leader and student of the game. He pours everything he has into our team and gives us his best every day. Danny is deeply contacted to our program and plays that way when he represents our team. He is an outstanding student (All-Academic Team his whole career) and a great talent on the field, he fits the mold of the top QBs I have coached and he is also unique in his own way. He is the first 2k/1k passer/rusher at the QB position that I have coached and that versatility has made him very dynamic in games. As a junior, he was selected as an AP All-State player. He cares about his teammates and he cares about NDGP. I am proud of him for what he has accomplished to date and excited for what lies ahead”.

Let’s Get to Know a Little More about Danny:

Why do you play football ?
I play football because I think it is the ultimate team sport. I love the competitiveness and physicality of the sport and being with my teammates out on the field. I also think it is simply the most fun sport to play and watch.

Who is your favorite sports star and why?
Najee Harris is probably my favorite sports star right now. I love how tough and gritty he plays on the field, as well as his good character off of it.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most ? Explain:
The play I probably remember most was a 30 yard scramble for a TD I had against Tamaqua in week three. I felt I showed resiliency in that moment, since I was not having my best game, and our team needed a spark to win that game. My coach told me that’s actually the moment I grew up as a player and as a leader.

What was last year’s season like for you ?
While it was disappointing the way it ended, losing in the District Semifinals by 1 point, last year’s season was unforgettable, surreal, and I’ll remember it for the rest of my life. The relationships I created with my teammates and the memorable moments we had together made last year so special for me. On top of that, looking back, our team had a really good season, winning a share of our League/Division Title, and I personally was proud of my play throughout the season.

Who is the best player you have ever lined up against ?
Noah Rosahac, a defensive lineman for Jim Thorpe and Syracuse commit, is probably the best player I’ve played against. I needed to know where he was all the time, and he caused havoc during the game.

What stadium, (HS/College/Pro) would you love to visit for a game?
Even though I have already been there, I would still love to visit Heinz Field again. My favorite professional team plays there, and I love the atmosphere the stadium has.

What is your favorite Pro Sports team(any sport) ? Explain:
My favorite Pro Sports team is the Pittsburgh Steelers. My dad grew up near Pittsburgh during the dynasty of the 1970’s, and he instilled in me from a young age that I am a fan of the Steelers. I also grew up watching Ben Roethlisberger in his prime, so that was fun to see.

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why ?
I think our week six victory over North Schuylkill was probably my favorite game I played in/watched. To get Coach Phil’s 100th win, in our home stadium, against a team we had not beaten in a few years, with our home fans was definitely a very memorable moment for me.

What sports movie could you watch every day if you had to pick one, and why ?
If I had to choose one sports movie to watch every day, I would pick Remember the Titans. That movie has been my favorite for as long as I can remember. The themes of brotherhood and togetherness, combined with the great sport of football really make it stand out for me.

Name one thing you’d love to do in football that may never happen?
I would love to pass, rush, and receive a touchdown in a single game. I’ve done two out of the three multiple times, but I would love to have a receiving touchdown one of these days.

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:
I would love to be able to play golf well. I have a lot of fun playing golf with my dad and brother in the summer, but I’m so awful that it makes me irritated most of the time.

What is your most embarrassing sports moment?
After scoring a long touchdown run in sixth grade, I think, I puked right on the field, and my family never let me forget it. We ended up converting the 2-point try anyways, so it all worked out.

When you aren’t playing, practicing, or training for sports, what is your go to activity, and why ?
My favorite activity outside of sports is probably playing video games. Even though I’m pretty awful at most video games, I love the competitiveness and talking with my friends while playing.

What is your favorite play to run ?
That’s tough. If I had to choose, my favorite plays are probably a read option, or RPO.

Which one, Sheetz, Wawa, or Rutters ? Explain:
I would have to say Wawa out of these three. Wawa has everything you could ask for, and their hoagies are super good as well.

What is your favorite vacation destination ?
My favorite vacation destination is the Jersey Shore. I love the beach, water sports, and being with my family.

Name one thing in life(NOT SPORTS RELATED) you would like to achieve:
I would definitely like to provide for my family in the best way possible, and pay for my kid’s college tuition.

Location you think would be the best place to live(ie: island, mountains, city, etc) ? Explain why:
As funny as it sounds, I think the best place to live is definitely in a small town near the beach. You can walk to most destinations, have close friends, and the beach is right outside your front door!
