WORDS FROM THE HEAD COACH:

Ayden was a starter as a Sophomore in 2022 on our state quarterfinal team. Ayden was poised to be our quarterback last year until he had a season ending knee injury during camp. Ayden has been fully cleared to come back this year and has had an incredible off-season.

GETTING TO KNOW MORE ABOUT AYDEN:

What is the best part of being a student-athlete at Northern Lehigh High School ?
I think the fact that everyone is so familiar with one another. It’s one of the perks going to a small school. It just creates a good environment.

How long have you been playing football(any level) ?
I have been playing football for 9 years.

Of all the road games you have played, which stadium had the best overall atmosphere, along with what made it so good ?
Palmerton for sure, the stands are always packed. Overall, it’s just a great atmosphere to play in. It’s not far from home so almost everyone from our home games go there, which makes playing there feel almost like a home game.

If the game is on the line, do you want to be on offense or defense ? Explain:
Offense for sure. To be down with the ball while the game is on the line is something every athlete thinks about. I feel like your in way more control of the game if you end with the ball last.

As an athlete, what has been your biggest achievement ?
Winning back to back District finals along with winning a few state games.

What was the high point of the 2023 season ?
I think when we beat Pen Argyl, that was by far high point. The team was still adjusting to the injuries that happened early on to a few players and I think they really came together to win that game.

What are you going to miss the most from the class of 2024 ?
Not being able to play with the 24 class one last time. I tore my ACL late in summer camp, so I didn’t get the opportunity to play one last year with that class.

What are your goals for the 2024 season ?
Stay healthy, win Districts, go as far as possible in states.

Who is your favorite sports star and why ?
Tom Brady, because he was doubted his whole life and with odds against him, he still did things no other quarterback will accomplish.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most ? Explain:
In the District final game my Sophomore year on a QB sneak, we already won the game and we were just running out the clock and my coach just said to run a QB sneak for the fun of it. We were at the 7 yard line, I remember I was able to get like 4 yards maybe before I started to get tackled, then my o-line picked me up and started dragging me into the end-zone for the touchdown. It was just a funny way to end that game.

Who is the best player(s) you have ever lined up against and what team did they play for ?
Matt Machalik for sure, he did nothing any other player in the state of PA has done. Didn’t matter who he had on his team he always found a way to make plays.

What stadium, (HS/College/Pro) would you love to visit for a game ?
I’d love to go to Penn State for a game.

What is your favorite Pro Sports team(any sport) ? Explain:
Giants, it was my mom and grandpas favorite team.

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why ?
Clemson and Ohio State in the college football semi-final. The game came down to the last play.

What sports movie could you watch every day if you had to pick one, and why ?
The Waterboy, it’s one of those movies you never get bored of.

Name one thing you’d love to do in football that may never happen ?
I’d love to get the opportunity to play linebacker again. I played it for a few games my Sophomore year and it was a lot of fun. I would like to be able to play it one last time.

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:
Volleyball

What is your most embarrassing sports moment ?
Freshman year, I went to make a tackle and put my head down and missed terribly and hit the wrong guy.

When you aren’t playing, practicing, or training for sports, what is your go to activity, and why ?
Go out to eat with friends. All my friends always go out and it’s just always fun.

Which one, Sheetz, Wawa, or Rutters ? Explain:
Sheetz, because that’s the go to place with friends.

What is your favorite vacation destination ?
Lake Wallenpaupack

Tell us something that you have a fear of ?
Having another season ending injury.

Favorite Fast Food/Burger place and why ?
McDonald’s, it’s the closest good fast food place near me.

Have you ever been to a professional sports game, which ones ?
I went to a few Giants and Eagles games.

NBA, NHL, MLB, NCAAF, NFL, Which league is the best and why ?
NFL, it’s the only sport in my opinion where you truly need every player on the field on the same page.

What is your favorite video game, on mobile and or console ?
Madden 20

What toppings go on your favorite pizza ?
Pepperoni

History

Favorite Band/Musician ?
Beach Boys

Airplane, Boat, or Vehicle(motorcycles included), how would you travel and to where ?
Airplane to the Bahamas.

Name one thing in life(NOT SPORTS RELATED) you would like to achieve:
I would like to keep in touch with most of my current friends as I get older.

Location you think would be the best place to live(ie: island, mountains, city, etc) ? Explain:
Lake Wallenpaupack or Jersey Shore. Theirs always a lot to do.
