WORDS FROM THE HEAD COACH:

Luke will be a 3 year starter at QB and LB for us. He is a big, physical kid with a huge arm. He has been one of the leaders for our team the last two years. We are expecting him to have a big year for us on both sides of the ball as one of our primary play makers.

What is the best part of being a student-athlete at Tamaqua High School ?
Best part is the competitiveness and the support from the community.

How long have you been playing football(any level) ?
This will be my 7th year playing.

Of all the road games you have played, which stadium had the best overall atmosphere, along with what made it so good ?
Definitely Palmerton, lots of people in the stands and it was a great game to watch.

If the game is on the line, do you want to be on offense or defense ? Explain:
Definitely offense, I feel like the game slows down, and we have control to make plays.

As an athlete, what has been your biggest achievement ?
My biggest achievement is being a three sport athlete and just excelling in ways I didn’t know I could.

What was the high point of the 2023 season ?
Throwing a 47 yard Hail-Mary for a touchdown to take the lead before half in our Northern Lehigh game.

What are you going to miss the most from the class of 2024 ?
I’m going to miss the guys that were there for me when I first started playing football and taught me a lot of the things I use today.

What are your goals for the 2024 season ?
Win a District championship.

Who is your favorite sports star and why ?
It’s got to be Josh Allen, because he was an underdog and now is one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most ? Explain:
I threw a 50 yard touchdown against North Schuylkill scrambling out of the pocket and avoiding getting hit while I threw.

Who is the best player(s) you have ever lined up against and what team did they play for ?
Definitely Matt Machalik from Palmerton.

What stadium, (HS/College/Pro) would you love to visit for a game ?
I would love to visit a Penn State whiteout game.

What is your favorite Pro Sports team(any sport) ? Explain:
My favorite pro sport team is definitely the Eagles, because I was raised as an Eagles fan.

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why ?
I love just watching college football in general, such a great atmosphere and support from the student and fan bodies.

What sports movie could you watch every day if you had to pick one, and why ?
Definitely Remember the Titans, because it’s just a great movie.

Name one thing you’d love to do in football that may never happen ?
Make it to states.

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:
Lacrosse

What is your most embarrassing sports moment ?
Definitely dropping back for a pass and slipping, losing 8 yards on third down.

When you aren’t playing, practicing, or training for sports, what is your go to activity, and why ?
I enjoy hunting and fishing with my friends to stay active and just be outside.

Which one, Sheetz, Wawa, or Rutters ? Explain:
Wawa all the way, because they have so many better options of food.

What is your favorite vacation destination ?
Definitely Cancun, Mexico.

Tell us something that you have a fear of ?
I do not like heights.

Favorite Fast Food/Burger place and why ?
Favorite fast food has to be Chipotle.

Have you ever been to a professional sports game, which ones ?
I have not been to any professional sports games.

NBA, NHL, MLB, NCAAF, NFL, Which league is the best and why ?
NFL by far, because these guys are competing 24 seven and have to train to stay in shape year-round.

What is your favorite video game, on mobile and or console ?
My favorite game right now is definitely MLB the Show 24.

What toppings go on your favorite pizza ?
Buffalo Chicken

Geometry

Luke Combs

Airplane, Boat, or Vehicle(motorcycles included), how would you travel and to where ?
I would take an airplane to a Caribbean Island.

Name one thing in life(NOT SPORTS RELATED) you would like to achieve:
Definitely, definitely getting a great job and moving down south.

Location you think would be the best place to live(ie: island, mountains, city, etc) ? Explain why:
I would love to live in the mountains, just away from all the big cities.
