LET’S GET TO KNOW COLBY:

Why do you play football?

It is one of the only sports you can play and hit someone as hard as you can without getting in trouble.

What was the 2024 season like for you?

It was a roller coaster between being named the starter, to getting hurt midseason, then recovering, and finally making the playoffs.

What are your goals for 2025?

Repeat the success from the past two years and win the District 11 title again.

What do you think is the best aspect of your game?

My ability to keep a clear head even when I get mad and help my team.

How have you approached this offseason differently than previous offseasons?

Yes, this is the first where more of the work is depending on me due to have a job and playing baseball this summer.

What does leadership mean to you?

It means being the person that you would trust to have your back on and off the field.

What is the best part about playing for Minersville Area?

The best part is easily the Fanbase. You hear them when winning and losing. Whole town shows out every Friday Night.

Who was the best player you have ever played against?

Braden Criswell from Williams Valley. Gave me my first challenge as a new starter on the line.

Who has had the most impact on you as a player and person?

My Dad.

Who is your biggest fan?

My Mom or Grandmother. They can fight for who is the bigger fan.

What are your hobbies outside of football?

Baseball, hunting, and trap shooting.

How would you describe preseason two-a-days?

The first gut check of the season. I would say it is more of a mental challenge than a physical one.

What is your favorite football memory, playing or watching?

My favorite memory is when our offensive line managed to have two 10+ play drives back to back to seal the game against Nativity.

What is your favorite genre of music?

Classic Country

What is your favorite pregame hype song?

Southern Nights by Glenn Campbell or Courtesy of the Red, White, and, Blue by Toby Keith

What is your favorite vacation spot?

Clearwater, Florida for spring training.

Cheese, crackers, and beef jerky
