There are 550 or so football teams in the state of Pennsylvania. Only one can boast that they have TWO players committed to Penn State. Bethlehem Catholic kicker Anthony DaSilva committed to the Nittany Lions a few weeks ago and yesterday offensive lineman Dalton Daddona made his commitment known via twitter. Dadonna is a force for the Hawks and will be a welcomed addition to the Nittany Lion offense. The 6-3, 275 pound lineman is the fifth ranked offensive lineman in PA according to Rivals.com.

We caught up with Dalton and asked him about his decision:
PFN: why did you choose to commit to the Nittany Lions?
Dalton: Growing up it has always been my dream to play at Penn State and this was an opportunity I felt I could not pass up. Coach Franklin runs a very high class program and they’re building something special, it’s something I want to be a part of.
PFN: who was your biggest influence at PSU, who recruited you?
Dalton: I was initially recruited by Coach Galiano before I came in contact with Coach Franklin. After I sat down and met with both of them it was easy to tell these are the types of coaches I want to play for. They are both really down to earth guys who are going to tell you how it is and I know they will push me to be my absolute best in every aspect of my life at PSU.
PFN: what do your parents think of your decision?
Dalton: My parents were both very supportive of my decision. They really took a step back and allowed me to evaluate my options on my own and decide where I wanted to be. They’re both very proud and they know how hard I’ve worked for this.
PFN: what are they getting in player like you?
Dalton: I feel like I bring an old school mentality from a physicality and hard work standpoint. I’m going to be one of the hardest workers and nastiest players on the team.
PFN: what position will you play?
Dalton: I will be playing on the offensive side of the ball, most likely center.
PFN: why commit early?
Dalton: I never really had a timeframe as to when I wanted to commit. I kind of played it by year and was waiting till I felt comfortable enough to say this is where I want to spend my next 4-5 years. It felt right and I didn’t see a reason to hold off any longer
PFN: what was the recruiting process like for you?
Dalton: The recruiting process for me was great. It taught me a lot. I never stressed anything and I did my best to enjoy every second of it. You only get to go through this process once and I made sure to make it enjoyable.
PFN: Do you know what you’d like to study?
Dalton: I’ve always wanted to study in the field of business.
PFN: What do you think is the most exciting thing about Penn State?
Dalton: For me the most exciting thing about Penn State has to be the game day atmosphere. It’s unbelievable to see over 100,000 people packing the stadium for every home game. You can tell Penn State has incredible fans.
PFN: Tell everyone out there in PSU land something they’d never know about you until you told them:
Dalton: My grandfather was a season ticket holder for many years and used to take me to games at a very young age. I grew up dreaming of playing for Penn State.
PFN: Who is the person who most influenced you in your football career?
Dalton: My dad definitely played the biggest role throughout my football career so far. He has always guided me in the right direction and really helped me become the football player I am today. He really helped me understand how this process works.
