RUSHING

Michael McDaniel of Bethlehem Catholic continues to stay hot in the playoffs as he rushed for 191 yards and 3 td’s in their win over Crestwood.  McDaniel has rushed for 709 yards and 11 td’s in their 3 playoff games.  He has now rushed for 1,929 yards and 34 td’s this year which moves him into sole possession of 2nd place in both categories at BECA.  Dave Wilson holds both records with his 2,681 yards rushing and 37 td’s.  McDaniel has 64 career td’s and is also in second place all-time at the school.  He is sandwiched between Tim Barlok’s 62 td’s (1996-98) and record holder Eddie Scipio’s 66 (1998-01).  McDaniel also moves up to a tie for 17th place all-time in the District with Jonathan Linton of Catasauqua (1989-92) and Rashonn Drayton of Central Catholic (1992-94).  Shane Simpson of Easton rushed for 137 yards in their loss to Parkland.  Simpson broke Juan Gaddy’s single season school record in the process and now has 1,994 yards on 217 carries (9.2 ypc) and has scored 39 td’s this season.  Gaddy had 1,894 yards in 1991 on 253 carries (7.5 ypc).  Simpson, who had scored at least 1 td in thirteen straight games, was held scoreless in the game and stays at 39 td’s for the season and 83 for his career.  Coincidentally, the last time he was held scoreless was the exact same District final game against Parkland last year.  Teammate Darvyn Reynolds enters the game against Phillipsburg with 1,131 yards rushing.  Phillipsburg’s Joe Maso enters the game with 1,270 yards rushing and 18 td’s this year and 3,296 yards and 40 td’s for his career.  Harry Hall of Northwestern finished the season with 1,819 rushing yards and scored 18 td’s.  His yardage was 2nd best all-time behind Brett Snyder’s 2,376 yards in 1995.  Hall will enter his senior season 865 yards and 16 td’s behind Snyder’s career records of 4,281 yards and 51 td’s.

PASSING.
Tre Jordan of Pius X leads the District with his 2,701 yards and 34 td passes.  Jordan moves into 4th place at Pius for single season passing yardage.  He needs 93 yards to move ahead Cole Hildabrant.  Hildabrant threw for 2,793 yards and 35 td passes as a sophomore in 2004.  Jordan needs 2 td passes to move ahead of Hildabrant and into second place at Pius X for a single season.  Jordan is tied with his head coach Phil Stambaugh and Nazareth’s Dan Harding for 17th best all-time in District 11 with 52 career td passes.  Devante Cross of Parkland now owns the single season td pass school record all by himself with 23.  John Laub threw 22 in 2007.  Julian Spigner of Bethlehem Catholic has now thrown for 2,240 yards and 28 td passes this year.  Spigner moves into 3rd place all-time for single season yardage.  In 2004, sophomore Alex Atiyah threw for 2,206 yards.  Mark Borda holds the school record when he threw for 2,897 in 2000 as a junior.  Adam Bednarik is in 2nd place with 2,356 yards (2002).  Spigner’s 28 td passes moves him into first place at BECA for a single season, one more then Bednarik’s 27 (2002).  Frank Dangello of Northwestern finished his career with every career record at the school.  His career totals are, 227 completions on 457 attempts for 3,628 yards and 50 td passes.
RECEIVING
Nate Stewart of Pius X leads the District with 72 receptions and is in second place in reception yardage with his 1,035 yards.  He needs 11 yards to take the lead from Nativity’s Jeff Yorty.  Stewart needs 14 yards to reach 2,000 yards for his career.  Freddie Simmons of Bethlehem Catholic now has 53 catches for 775 yards this year.  Simmons finally cracks the top ten all-time at BECA for single season reception yardage.  Simmons sits in 9th place, 21 yards behind Mark Scattene, who had 796 yards in 2004.  Freddie now owns the single season td reception record when he caught his 14th of the year, last week.  Frank Trovato had 13 in 2002.  Teammate, Elijah Fineran has 31 catches for 730 yards and 8 td’s on the year, but will miss the playoff game vs Somerset.  Jarey Elder of Parkland now has 52 catches and is within 4 catches of school record holder Jaleel Clark’s 56 set in 2007.  Teammate, Kenny Yeboah has caught 40 passes for 675 yards and 12 td’s.  Cam Richardson of Northwestern ended his career with every single season and career reception record.  Richardson caught 47 passes for 758 yards and 14 td’s this year and 97 for 1,601 yards and 23 td’s for his career.  Cam also scored a total of 27 td’s this year and 46 for his career.  The 27 td’s places him in 2nd place at Northwestern behind only Brett Snyder’s 33 set in 1995.  His 46 career td’s places him in third place behind Brett’s 51 (1992-95) and brother Josh’s 49 (1994-97).
