Emmaus Christen New Turf With Shutout Over Allen.

EMMAUS- The Emmaus Green Hornets showed off it’s new field turf Thursday night on their Eastern Pennsylvania Conference opener against the Canaries of William Allen at EPSD Stadium and thrashed the visitors to the tune of a 58-0 shutout.

Behind Brandon Camire and Jake Fotta led the offense combined along with a stifling defense, that allowed Allen to gain 31 net yards, while the home team picked up 271 yards.they dominated the game from start to finish.

Camire ran for 117 yards on just 9 carries and three touchdowns, he also had 64 yards receiving and two more scores. Fotta, a Sophmore, rushed for a score and threw for another in the victory.

The defense got the scoring started whe Aiden Dougherty blocked a Allen punt out of the end zone for a safety and a 2-0 lead.

Emmaus then rolled off six touchdowns on consecutive possessions, to open up a 44-0 lead at intermission. Allowing the second half to be played under the mercy rule.

Camire, had runs of 36, 7 and 36 yards for scores. Jared Groller had a six yard burst up the middle for another touchdown.

“The kids were happy to get on the field tonight, We got started back in late June, its been a long time coming. It was a good night overall, Emmaus coach Harold Fairclough stated.

Next week, Emmaus will host the other Allentown school, Dieruff also on Thursday night. Allen will face Allentown Central Catholic at Parkland Saturday afternoon.
