MAHANOY CITY – The Golden Bears dropped their second game of the season in a close game against Williams Valley Friday night. The game began as a shootout, as the two squads exchanged blows. Williams Valley struck first, as QB Bryce Herb found FB Logan Williard for a 36-yard touchdown in the first quarter.
Early in the second, Mahanoy would answer, with a QB Ben Terry run for 21-yards. A failed point-after would give the Vikings a 1-point advantage, 7-6. Once again, a Herb pass would find paydirt, this time in the hands of Jesse Engle, giving the Vikings a 14-6 advantage.
