Week five of the high school football season around the Lehigh Valley is in the books and just about all the teams have played at least one game this season, all but for Pleasant Valley, who is scheduled to play Pocono Mountain West this Friday night October 16th stay tuned!

Recapping this past weekend in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference(EPC) Parkland finally hit the field for their opening game against arch-rival Whitehall and behind running back Isiah Rico’s 154 yards and three touchdowns help lead the Trojans to a 41-24 win in Orefield.

Easton(1-1), who had been state-ranked by several media outlets coming into it’s game with Bethlehem Freedom(2-0) found themselves on a short end of a 21-10 score. Freedom quarterback Brian Taylor threw for three scores after the Red Rovers took an initial 10-0 lead by the second quarter. Taylor completed a 23 yard score to Owen Johnson-McCormick just before intermission to cut the lead to 10-7. He added a 47 and 13 yard scores to AJ Fletcher to close out the win.

With score 7-7 a Liberty punt on fourth down appeared to be touched by the Golden Hawk’s receiver and the ball was recovered by Liberty in Hawk’s territory, but the officials said there was illegal touching by the Hurricanes giving the ball back to the Golden Hawks. On the ensuing play Rahmel Terry ripped off a 68 yard run to make it 14-7 and completely changed momentum of the contest.
