The Explorers and Red Rovers have not played against one another since 2010. La Salle owns back-to-back wins.

It has been ten years in the making since a District XI highest classification football squad has beaten a District 12 team. That team was the Parkland Trojans knocked off La Salle 16-13 en route to a state title shot against Pittsburgh Central Catholic in 2015.

Friday night at historic Bethlehem School District Stadium. The Red Rovers of Easton, put their unbeaten streak of 13 games on the line when facing La Salle College Explorers at 7pm. With the winner advancing to the PIAA State 6A semifinal to face either North Penn or Pennridge.

La Salle comes into the game with a 10-1 record. The Explorers have several impressive wins this season: 23-6 over Pittsburgh Central Catholic. Two wins over perennial power St. Joe’s Prep 31-20 on October 4th and a 24-14 decision on November 1st. They also hold two out-of-state wins against Salesianum of Delaware 28-17 and Calvert Hall (MD) 48-7. The only blemish on their record is a 39-36 defeat to another state semifinalist in 5A Roman Catholic. The Cahillites rocked Whitehall this past weekend 49-7.

For Easton, it has been quite a journey a 3-8 team two years ago, improved to 11-2 last year and now are unbeaten and looking for their first 14 win season in school history and looking for their first trip to the state semifinals since 2003.
