The Nazareth Blue Eagles win a lopsided battle at home against the Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack. Only the best of the best get to play under the Friday night lights in November and the Blue Eagles showed up and showed out. Wilkes-Barre kicked off to Nazareth to begin the game. It didn’t take the Blue Eagles very long to put 6 up on the board, as running back Marquez Wimberly punched one in early after an 11-yard run. The Wolfpack couldn’t find an answer, so Nazareth got the ball back and it wasn’t long until running back Jed Bendekovits extended the lead with a 5-yard run. On the Blue Eagle’s next drive, Bendekovits then ran another 5 yards into the end zone. Nathan Baker added his second PAT of the night to make the score 20-0 at the end of the first quarter. The game went back and forth a few drives before Marquez Wimberly blocked a Wilkes-Barre punt and put the Blue Eagles in scoring position. Wimberly added his second score of the night on this drive, which made it 27-0 in Nazareth’s favor. Wilkes-Barre continued to struggle to get anything going and punted away. Nazareth’s sophomore quarterback, Peyton Falzone, ran one in for himself and a 2-point conversion was tacked on, thanks to Logan Hilarczyk. It was after this that the Wolfpack gained momentum going downfield, which ultimately led to a 46-yard touchdown pass from Jake Howe to Jovan Goodwin. Nazareth running back Jack Banghart’s touchdown was the one that ended the scoring for the night to produce a final score of 42-6. Nathan Baker was a perfect 5/5 on extra points for the Blue Eagles.
