NAZARETH- Late last Friday afternoon a positive Covid-19 test at Nazareth was diagnosed and the top seed in District XI 6A season looked to be over on the gridiron. But some contact tracing testing was conducted and after some phone calls to committee members and to Pleasant Valley it was decided the game would be back on, much to the delight of coaches, players and administration.

The game was played on Monday night at Andrew Leh Stadium and the Blue Eagles soared to a convincing 56-10 victory and will advance to play Stroudsburg at home Friday night.

Nazareth did not take long to show off their high-octane offense, going 67 yards on five plays culminating in a eight yard pass from quarterback Matt Bugbee to Jaiden Cabrera and a 7-0 lead just over a minute gone off the clock.

Pleasant Valley, used the triple option to perfection on their opening drive going 19 plays and using up nearly eight minuts in converting a one yard score by Rob Papaleo

Eagles running back Tyler Rohn started a 28 point run after a 72 yard punt return by Nolan Lobb to the Bears one to make the score 14-7. The scored ballooned to 35-10 at intermission as Bugbee connected with Andrew Wells for a couple of scores. Bugbee also had a 49 yard run and Joe Capobianco spun his way to a 23 yard score.

Mike McCarty, the backup quarterback found Jake Hilarczyk for an eight yard score and added a five yard score late in the fourth quarter to close out the scoring.
