Nazareth survives and advances after a highly anticipated district 6A semifinals game against Northampton. Both teams were held scoreless in the first quarter, but it didn’t take the Blue Eagles of Nazareth long to get going in the second. On the first play of the second quarter, quarterback Peyton Falzone threw a 16-yard touchdown to wide receiver Mason Kuehner. Nathan Baker knocked in the extra point to make the score 7-0. Before the conclusion of the half, Nazareth was able to widen the gap after a 14-yard catch in the end zone from Logan Hilarczyk. The score remained 14-0 heading into the half. The ball went back and forth for most of the third, and it wasn’t until about 4 minutes remaining that Peyton Falzone took a quarterback keeper across the goal line to make it 21-0. Northampton fought back in the fourth and thanks to a 28-yard touchdown from Tristen Pinnock, the score became 21-7. Unfortunately, the Koncrete Kids couldn’t find the energy they needed to get down the field again, and the game ended in a Blue Eagle victory. Nazareth will now face Parkland in the district 6A championship next Friday, November 17. This game will be one to watch, as Parkland handed Nazareth its only loss of the season earlier in the year.
