The Nazareth Blue Eagles and Allentown Central Catholic Vikings faced off at Andrew S. Leh Stadium, home of the Blue Eagles, in a rainy, but high energy week 6 game. Prior to the game, both teams had only suffered one loss. Both knew it was going to be a battle for the number 2 spot in the league. The game was tied at 7 coming up on the final minutes of the 4th quarter thanks to a Nazareth touchdown by Jed Bendekovits and extra point by Nathan Baker as well as a Central Catholic touchdown by Jareel Calhoun and extra point by Luke Myers. With just under 3 minutes left to play, Nazareth quarterback, Peyton Falzone threw a dot to wide reciever, Caleb Newsome for a 13-yard touchdown to give Nazareth the lead. With little time left, the Vikings tried to fight back, but came up short with a turnover on downs. The Blue Eagle’s record has improved to 5-1, while the Viking’s record dropped to 4-2. Next week, Nazareth looks to continue their streak against Whitehall and Allentown Central Catholic will petition to add to the win column against Liberty.
