Notre Dame-Green Pond Flexes Their Muscles in a Dominating Performance. @NDGP_FOOTBALL @MuhlsAthletics

BETHLEHEM TWP- The Crusaders of Notre Dame-Green Pond scored early and often on their way to a 59-20 victory over Muhlenberg, out of District 3 Friday night, before a decent size crowd all things considered.

Johnny Febbo opened the scoring for Notre Dame, as he picked off a Muhls pass and returned it 21 yards to give the home team a 7-0 lead on their way to a 42 point quarter.

On the Muhls second possession , running back Aaron Shuker ripped off a 78 yard touchdown run to tie the game at 7 as Trace Goodman connected on the extra point.

Robby Spirk was on the receivibg end of a 72 yard pass from Colin Quintano, putting the Crusaders ahead for good at 14-7 lead with 7:38 left in the opening quarter.

Matt Fraunn scored twice for the Crusaders, once on a 40 yard run and then a 44 yard pass from Quintano. Jake Hull the had a scoop and score fumble recovery for another score for the home team.

Nasir Sanders then found the end zone on a 10 yard pass from Quintano. Joe Galle got his number called on a one yard score Frauen scored from yards out to make it 59-7.

Muhlenberg then scored before the half on a nine yard run by by Alex McGeary to make it 59-14 at intermission.

With a running clock in the second half, Muhlenberg got one final score from Shuker to make the final score 59-20.

“We wanted to get off to a quick start, and being this was our second game and got off to a slow start last week against Pine Grove. Tonight we played well on both sides of the ball.” Coach Phil Stambaugh stated after the game..

Notre Dame kicks off its’ Colonial League schedule against Salisbury, while Muhlenberg will face Exeter Township.
