FRIDAY NIGHT:
Williams Valley Viking(3-0) at Minersville Battlin’ Miners(2-1)
Last Meeting: 2019 – Williams Valley won 39 to 7
Minersville comes into this weekends matchup winners of 2 straight, shutting out both opponents by a combined score of 63 to 0, lead by senior QB John Adams and Junior WR Brock Polinsky. Adams has thrown for more than 680 yards, and 7 touchdowns thus far this season with just 1 interception. His main target, Brock Polinsky has 223 yards receiving. Minersville’s offense has over 850 yards of total offense, the defense has 7 sacks, and 4 INTS. The Vikings enter the game on a 10 game win streak following their only loss of the 2020 season to Mount Carmel, 43 to 28. Williams Valley has outscored their opponents this season 70 to 22. The Vikings offense is lead by Sophomore RB Alex Achenbach with 498 yards rushing, 46 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns in total. Williams Valley defense seems to be the strong point of the team overall with a whopping 20 sacks in just 3 games.

Pottsville Area Crimson Tide(2-1) at Blue Mountain Eagles(2-1) *CLASH of 61* Trophy Game
Last Meeting: 2020 – Pottsville won 27 to 13
Pottsville enters Saturday afternoon’s contest winners of 3 straight over the Eagles averaging 36.6 points per game, giving up 17.6. The Crimson Tide lead the series history between these two programs 44 to 13, with 12 shutouts. The longest winning streak during the series is held by Pottsville, winning 12 straight from 1974-1985, Blue Mountains longest win streak over the Tide is 3, dating back to 2000 thru 2002. Since 2012, these two program have played for what is called the Clash of 61 Trophy with Pottsville winning 5, and Blue Mountain winning 4. Over the series dating back to 1960, Pottsville’s offense has scored 1370 points(24.04/game), while Blue Mountain has scored 712 points(12.49/game). Northwestern Lehigh enters the game scoring an average of 36.6 points a game, giving up 21.6. The Tigers offense have gained an average of 301.3 yards per game lead by their running game. Leading the way on offense is senior QB Justin Holmes, who has 389 yards rushing, and 150 yards passing with 9 touchdowns in total(2 pass, 7 run). Lehighton comes into the game averaging 29.6 points a game, giving up a whopping 43.3. The Indians offense is lead by senior WR Hunter Crum.
PREDICTION: Tigers claw their way to victory… 47 to 23 !

Mahanoy Area Golden Bears(0-3) at Nativity BVM Green Wave(1-2) at St. Clair Veterans Memorial Stadium
Last Meeting: 2020 – Mahanoy Area won 42 to 27
The Golden Bears enter Friday nights matchup having been outscored 48 to 0 thus far this season. I think that stat could possibly change this week. As for Nativity, they enter the game scoring 25.6 points a game, giving up 34.3.
PREDICTION: I’m going to ride the wave here and go with the home team, 31 to 12 Nativity wins !

Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils(0-2) at Pine Grove Area Cardinals(0-3) at Cardinal Stadium
Last Meeting: 1993 – Shenandoah Valley won 21 to 14
The last time Pine Grove defeated Shenandoah Valley was back in 1987 by a score of 15 to 14. Shenandoah Valley enters this weeks game scoring 14 points in 2 games, giving up 70. The Blue Devils offense is lead by the passing game to which the WR’S have over 225 yards in two games. Pine Grove comes into the game, scoring 21 points, giving up 73 in their 3 games. The Cardinals have racked up 791 yards of offense, lead by the passing game as well with both Carson Lengle and Mason Kroh, who both have thrown for over 275 yards for a total of 560 yards passing. Pine Grove’s rushing attack is lead by Garrett Lehman with 184 yards on the ground.
PREDICTION: Pine Grove gets first victory of the season, 35 to 13

PREDICTION: Olympians find their stride to take down the Falcons 27 to 7

Catasauqua Rough Riders(3-0) at Panther Valley Panthers(0-1)
PREDICTION: Rough Riders roll the Panthers 41 to 0
