Team Skook took the field today to complete their second and final practice before the big game between the Schuylkill and Colonial League All Stars.
The Schuylkill League All Star squad looked ready to go and get at it today at Rotary Field in Schuylkill Haven in preparation for next weekend’s Inaugural Schuylkill/Colonial All Star Classic that will pit the best from both leagues against each on the field for the first time. Today rapped up the second of only two practices, with the first held two weeks ago on May 1st. Helmets and pads were worn during today’s practice unlike the first. Below are a few words from Coach Farr(Schuylkill Haven), and (Blue Mountain)Coach Gallagher.
As a team, Coach Farr said, the ” Kids came today ready to work and prepared. I loved how focused they were on execution. Our O line play was impressive today, and the entire defense. Our defense is very quick to the football and our defensive backs are very aggressive in coverage. In the late afternoon session the players were locked into game mode. ”
On the defensive side of the ball, Coach Gallagher went on to say, ” Today’s practice went great. I think we took another step in the right direction with our team, and we are working well together. What really stood out to me today was how well our kids executed and gave a really strong effort. They seemed focus and made a lot of impressive plays. I think we just looked solid as a unit today defensively. We got to the football and executed each of our assignments. If we can do that next week then we should be in a good spot defensively. ”
