Rotary Field at Schuylkill Haven to Host 1st. Annual Schuylkill vs Colonial League All Star Game May 21, 2022 @ 2pm!
Last year we witnessed the first year for the Schuylkill/Colonial Leagues Co-Operative Schedule between the two District XI leagues. With much success and competitive games throughout the 2021 season, it was deemed that an All Star game between the two league had to played. Well, 2022 is the year for that to happen as on May 21, 2022, football fans will get to witness the first, and hopefully many more Schuylkill vs Colonial League All Star games.
Unlike the SCFCA North vs South Senior All Star game, the players for this all star game are nominated by their head coaches. There will be 37 players selected per team. No rosters or coaches have been named at the time of this article but was told that rosters will be finalized after the PSFCA BIG 33 East/West rosters are completed. Hurricanes Head Coach, Mike Farr also stated that the game will alternate league fields each year, beginning at Rotary Field, in Schuylkill Haven this year, and at Palmerton in 2023.
In the first season of the Schuylkill/Colonial League Co-Operative Schedule, the Colonial League teams led the way posting a 28-18 record against Schuylkill League teams. With this new all star game coming, I, personally am looking forward to an awesome showdown between the two leagues best of the best battling it out on the field. That’s not the only thing going on at Rotary Field, at 9:00am, KickIt PRESENTS the Colonial vs Schuylkill Specialist Contest that consists of 3 rounds, Field Goals, Kickoffs, and Punting. This is a great event as kickers from their respected teams get to showcase their kicking skills. Awards will be given out to the top 3 specialists overall.
