Top Saftey In EPC Looking To Make Lots Of Plays In His Senior Campaign

Nasir McLean (Saftey, Allentown Central Catholic, ’24)

This safety out of Allentown Central Catholic is a ball hawk. The rising senior has been proving himself on Friday nights since his freshman season when he started at QB for Catasauqua. He played his sophomore season at Central where he picked off 8 passes. This past season he picked off 5 passes returning 1 for a touchdown.

He proved to be a legit safety in the EPC, after being named to the EPC All-Conference 2nd Team in back-to-back seasons. He also made some plays against the run recording 85 tackles, 2 TFLs, and 1 sack on the season. The one pick-six Mclean had wasn’t just any, he got it in the State Semi-Final against Aliquippa. He returned the pass for 31 yards and the score.

One of this player’s biggest strengths is his ability to bait Quarterbacks. McLean’s man-to-man coverage skills are also a strong trait. Even in the offseason, he is bettering his skills. Nasir plays 7v7 in the offseason while also being trained by some of the best coaches in the area. Competing at a high level in the offseason will help Nasir stay ready for his senior campaign. He will be ready for any role given to him this season. Nasir’s biggest goals for the year are to “win a state championship, and do whatever my coaches need me to do.” I’m excited to see what Nasir will do this year as he tries to get the Vikings to Cumberland Valley in 2023.
