Why do you play football?

The reason I started playing football was just for fun. I always loved watching the sport. Now that I actually play football and learned the sport I see it as an opportunity. An opportunity to make it out of my neighborhood. Football became a lifestyle for me and it will forever be a lifestyle.

What has been your best memory from football so far?

My best memory playing football would have to be being on a team. I’m not a state champ, city champ, or anything in that nature. When it comes to memories, being on a team would have to be the best one. The vibes in the locker room are unmatched.

Who is your favorite pro athlete and why?

My favorite athlete would have to be James Harden. Even though he doesn’t play football I love his grind and how he stayed loyal to the Rockets and took them to the playoffs each year without any complaining or recruiting any big-time stars to help him.

Who is your biggest fan and why?

When it comes to fans I don’t just have one. My entire family is my biggest fan. They all want to see me win, they all push me hard every day, and they all help me with anything I need. They’re a big part of why I play this game, to put them in a better situation.

Is there any specific person you look up to and use as a role model?

If we’re being honest, the person I look up to the most would be my grandmom. She’s in her 70’s and still provides for her entire family, she never quits. Not one time did I ever see her reach out for help for anything. You have to almost beg her to help her. She doesn’t need anybody to do what she has to do. My grandmom is the strongest woman I know.

What is your desired major in college?

I have more than one major I’m interested in. Mechanical Engineering, Psychology, and Communications.

How has COVID-19 affected you?

COVID hit me hard. Before it started I had Lots of Junior Days to attend, schedule all throughout the summer. All of them canceled. Towards the middle of the pandemic, I stopped receiving emails from coaches, wasn’t getting any more calls or text messages. I felt like it was over, the season was canceled, I had no scholarship money and everything fell apart. COVID hit me very hard.

Favorite play to run?

Favorite play to run? I like blitzing a lot. Being able to get after the quarterback forcing him to run around would have to be my favorite play.

What is your personal goal for this season?

The biggest goal this season is to earn scholarship money. I absolutely need it. I’m going to put it all out there this spring. I’m using this as a second chance, I was given a second chance to prove myself and that’s exactly what I’m going to do.

Favorite pre-game meal?

A favorite pre-game meal would be simply two bowls of cereal. I wake up on game day, go in the kitchen, and make myself two bowls of cereal every time.

Sports movie?

Remember the Titans would have to be my favorite sports movie. I like everything about it. Everything they overcame, the team they built, everything.

Sport you’d love to play but can’t?

No sport I’d rather play besides football. The energy, excitement after big plays, the brotherhood, all of it. There’s nothing like playing football in my eyes.

Most embarrassing sports moment?

So about my most embarrassing sports moment. It was the end of a game. I just played probably one of the best games of my life. It was my Junior year Against Central Highschool. I had two interceptions and returned one for a touchdown. At the end of the game, they do an onside kick. It was under one minute left and we were up two touchdowns. They kicked the ball and I didn’t make an attempt to get it and got blindsided in front of their entire bench.

What are you looking forward to most this year?

I’m looking forward to playing. That’s what I’m looking forward to the most. It’s Literally been an entire year since I put equipment on and I miss the feeling. I can’t wait to get back out there and play.

Favorite activities?

My favorite activity outside of sports would be playing my Xbox. After a long workout or practice, I’ll go home and play the game with my teammates.
