Coach Bubb states that Jabril doesn’t talk much at practice but he plays loud. You can hear him hitting every play. With his size he can be quite a force. He states he’s a “nice kid with a great football IQ, been a pleasure to coach & I have no doubt in my mind this kid can play Division 1 football”.

Why do you play football?
I play football to stay out of the way. I also see football as an opportunity to eventually take care of my family.
Who is the best player you ever lined up against?
The best player I lined up against was Jabriel Rhodes-Nelson. At practice lining up against him made me get better. Iron sharpness iron.
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:
When we played against MLK and I pancaked the D end and his helmet fell off.
What interests/offers do you currently have?
I currently have no offers but I have interest from schools like Stony Brook, Bowie State & Yale.
What do you plan to major in?
Currently I’m unsure what I want to major in.
What is your favorite class?
My favorite class is probably geometry.
Who is your favorite athlete of all time & why?
Brian Dawkins is my favorite athlete of all time as he inspired me to play football.
What was your favorite moment thus far in your HS career?
Owning the school record for pancakes in a season.
How was the 2022 season for you?
It was fun, many enjoyable moments and a fun team.
What are the team/individual goals for 2023?
Teamwise I want to win a championship. Individual goals include goin all public.
What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?
I’d love to visit an Ohio State game.
What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?
The Eagles fly eagles fly.
Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?
My girl Mya she’s always been there for me and she supports me no matter what. LOVE U MYA
Favorite football game to watch (Pros/College or HS)?
The Super Bowl when the Eagles on it. My favorite game I watched was our playoff game against Mastery. Watching my film on that game motivates me to fix my mistakes.
What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?
Coach Carter. It’s a good movie
If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?
My mom would yell “Let’s go baby”.
Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?
Score a 99 yard touchdown

Pizza
Favorite play to run and why?
My favorite play to run is 35 because I love to pull & create opportunities for my running back.
Hobbies outside of sports?
I like to play the game.
What scares you the most?
Not achieving my goals.
Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?
Brian Dawkins his mentality and leadership inspires me.
Who is the most inspirational person in your life?
The most inspirational person in my life is my mom, she does everything by herself and was able to raise me and my siblings.
What pregame music do you listen to before games?
I listen to some King Von to put me in the mood.
Who is your favorite teammate?
My trench bullies I love my lineman.
Did you play little league football? If so for what organization?
I played for the Southwest Philly Wolves & the West Philadelphia Tarheels.
What is something folks should know about West Philly High, the football players & coaches?
We hungry & ready to win.
