Coach says: David has a heart of a lion. Toughest player on the team and will fight through anything. Looking forward to seeing him this year. He finished his 1st season last year as the leader on the team in receiving TDs after never playing WR not even in youth football. Returning All-Public as an WR and looking to be WR1. Like many student athletes in Philadelphia, David has many obstacles he has to overcome daily but he continues to push through each barrier with a never let up attitude.
Describe how the 2023 season ended up being successful? The key to our success was coming together as a team not thinking about ourself because we were playing for each other at practice and we had to do more listening than talking. We helped each other and learned how to help each other on and off the field by having one another’s backs not allowing each other to fail.
How was Coach Aleem key to the program? Coach Leem is a great coach on and off the field. He is always helping me get better on the field and when I am going through things he always helps me get my mind right. His office is always open for me to come talk to him no matter what I’m going through?
Favorite HS memory thus far? My favorite HS football memory so far is the game against Kensington. We were down 3 touchdowns at halftime going into the locker room. I was disappointed on how we were playing as a team but when we got back on the field we came back and I scored 3 TDs helping us gain a key comeback victory.
Favorite HS teammate & why? Our graduating QB Nazire Johnson because he came to me and told me whenever he gets in trouble, he’s throwing the ball up to me and that told me all I needed to know about his trust & confidence in me.
What’s the best thing about the game of football? The best thing about football is that it’s all about being competitive, who is that it’s all about being competitive, who is going to win each play and who is going to play the hardest.
Favorite TV Show? All American
Favorite Football Stadium? Lincoln Financial Field
Favorite Play called & Why? My favorite play to run is called Johnson because it’s a play where I am always able to get open and catch the ball.
Key Person in your life who has been important in your development? My uncle because he shows he believes in me just as much as I believe in myself.
Favorite Food? Alfaro / Salmon & rice.
Cheesesteak or Hoagie? And Who has the best sandwich? Cheesesteak and you have take that trip to Geno’s.
Hobbies outside of football? I play basketball for my school, while also being in the Junior ROTC program. I like being creative & being a part of a team.
Pre-Game Music? 300 Blackout by Kodak Black & Hard by 1up Tee
If you were given 3 wishes that you could turn into reality what would they be? To never be forgotten, win a championship and lastly making sure all of my family is taken care of as I want to break generational curses.
