The weather wasn’t perfect as it was chilly, slightly windy and down right cold but none the less a game was played at the Northeast Supersite. Lincoln played the game without star QB Gabe Smalley which forced a different style of offense for them as they used Sr Athlete Nayshawn Corley as the signal caller. Nayshawn had moments of flashing with his arm and legs. He rushed for 65 yards on a physical Prep defense and also threw for another 73. However he was sacked 4 times as well and hit quite a few others. Through it all he battled from the first to the last snap.

For SJP they did what most thought they would as star Sr QB Samaj Jones rushed for 2 touchdowns and threw for another. Also joining the scoring was Sr RB Erik Sanchez and Sr RB Taj Dyches. Defensively for Prep Sr DE Sean McNulty along with Jr DT Roy Maxwell both had good games rushing Nayshawn and dropping him for losses. Star CB Omilio Agard was solid in coverage blanketing receivers. Lincoln’s Ziyyon Bredell shined catching an interception and providing tackles in the running game.

Lincoln looks to erase this taste of defeat when they are back on the gridiron in their annual Thanksgiving game against rival Father Judge. They haven’t beaten Judge since 1989 and with their full team available they look to end that streak as they ended other streaks this season.

Prep will advance to the PIAA quarterfinals where they will take on Nazareth High..
