Let’s get to know Liam!

Why do you play football?

I play football for the love of it. Since elementary I always wanted to play. Every time I step on and off that field I just love to be there between being with teammates, working to get better, and everything between.

Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?

I love Devonta Smith. Being an eagles fan for majority of my life, I’ve had my different favorite players who’ve played. Devonta Smith stands out to me because of his size. Being the best wide receiver two in the league and definitely able to be wide receiver one on some teams and being so small is amazing.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:

First tackle in a varsity game ever. Lined up against North Pocono at DE and by the third play blast was coming right at me. I shot the gap, made the tackle, and heard my name over the speaker. It was when I knew varsity is gonna be fun.

What was last years season like for you?

Last season was filled with a lot of ups and downs. As a player myself, I believe I progressed a lot and learned to adapt being asked to play different positions. I wanted to play every game so I made sure I did through a concussion and pneumonia. Overall despite it not going the team’s way, coaches learned a lot and players did too.

What are your goals for this coming season?

10 sack season without a doubt. Being able to make more consistent plays in the back field and really let every team know not to run towards me at all.

Who is the best player you ever lined up against?

74 from Crestwood was one of the best for sure. We had a big back and forth game him and DE and me at OT. He’s committed to Shippingsberg for a reason, big man and good player.

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?

Again sophomore year, North Pocono was my favorite game to watch. While being on the field during some defensive drives, watching how our team played and being able to break our losing streak was something magical.

Describe what the perfect teammate is

A perfect teammate is one that’s there for you on and off field. Football really is a brotherhood and have a connection with each other no matter where you are is true brotherhood. They don’t have to be perfect themselves as long as they care about you and the progression of the team in a positive mindset.

Tell everyone why you think football is good for a community

Back when I was younger, I live coming to football games before I was playing in them. Everyone is able to just sit and watch a game we all like in some way. I feel like a lot of teams now are also trying to help their communities which is great.

Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?

I’m at a weird position where I believe if I work hard enough I could get anything out of football. Positional changes may happen one day in college so almost anything may happen one day. Most likely never throwing a 50 yard bomb for a touchdown though.

Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?

I want to be my own person. I have had those guide my life like my dad, mother, coaches, and especially my sensei. I give so much gratitude to those who have helped me but I want to be my own man who builds his own legacy.

What is your favorite practice drill? What is your least favorite practice drill?

My favorite practice drill has to be 1on1’s; Love competing always. My least favorite gotta be gassers but who likes gassers.

Preseason Two a Days are:

Some of the most fun two weeks of my life.

Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?

My trainer Ben has to be my biggest fan. Always coming to my games supporting me throughout my journey.

When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?

While a lot of my time is spent doing or training for sports, I often enjoy nature too. Little weird but a nice hike is always a good time. I also play videos games and be out with my friends a lot too.

What is your favorite play to run?

Counter left because it’s when I get to pull and absolutely crack a linebacker.

is a hot dog a sandwich? If not, then why?

I believe everyone can agree a hoagie is a specific type of sandwich so a hotdog is basically a different version of a hoagie. In return it must be a sandwich.

Music of choice:

I listen to music all over the place but rap, RNB, and metal are my top three genres though

Best Pizza topping?

It’s a tie between cheesesteak pizza and chicken wing. It has to be chicken tender shock though and not grilled or shredded.

What is your favorite vacation destination?

Wesley Island was always a place where my grandparents went with my father. When me and my brother were old enough they would take us every year and I enjoy it every single time. Hikes, beautiful sunsets and campfires; it’s just a great time.
