Wyalusing over Montrose

The Wyalusing Rams scored 24 points in the second quarter on their way to a season-opening 52-6 win at Montrose.

Shane Fuhrey started the game with a seven-yard run at 2:55 of the first quarter and the kick failed.

In the second quarter at 8:18 Fuhrey scored on a three-yard run and Brandon Dake had the two-point run.

Dake had a six-yard run and had the two-point run at 6:47 and Fuhrey had a one-yard run with a second left in the half and Fuhrey had the two-point run.

In the third quarter at 9:17 Dake had a one-yard run and Dake had the two-point try.

Brian Arnold had a 16-yard run with 8:03 left and the run failed and with 1:04 left Jackson Chilson had a one-yard run on a fumble recovery and Mitchell Burke had the two-point run.

Wyalusing had 35 carries for 350 yards.

Trent Nickeson had seven carries for 126 yards and Fuhrey ran for 120 yards on 10 carries with three scores.

Burke had 51 yards on three carries and Dake had 38 yards on nine carries. Arnold had three carries for 25 yards in the game.

Sayre tops Bucktail

Corbin Brown threw for 292 yards and four touchdowns as Sayre topped Bucktail 36-0 on Friday.

Brown was 15-for-22 passing in the win and he ran in Sayre’s other touchdown.

Sayre started things at 5:04 of the first quarter when Brown hit Zach Watkins on a touchdown. The kick failed.

At 5:05 of the second quarter Gage Carnrike hauled in a 57-yard score from Brown and Nate Garrity had the two-point run.

Carnrike caught a 37-yard touchdown from Brown with 3.1 left in the half and Garrity had the two-point run.

At 9:06 of the third quarter Brown hit Ethan Miller on a 29-yard score and the two-point try failed. Brown had a three-yard touchdown run with 1:04 left in the quarter and he hit Patrick Casterline on the two-point try.

Carnrike had five catches for 156 yards and Miller had four grabs for 54 yards. Watkins had three catches for 32 yards and Liam Dwyer had three for 35 yards. James Esposito had two grabs for 20 yards and Will Kelley had a 24-yard catch.
