Mistakes continues to haunt Northwest as Lake-Lehman wins 42-6

For the first time since 2019 Northwest and Lake-Lehman faced off as the Rangers traveled up to Lehman to play the Black Knights. The Rangers won the toss and deferred to the second half. The Black Knights received the opening kickoff and wasted no time driving down the field and scored from 2 yards out with a run by #24 Gavin Shoemaker, Lehman jumped out to a 7-0 lead. The Rangers opening possession staled out but the Black Knights turned the ball over on the punt, Rangers take over on their side of the 50. That drive stalled out, the Rangers punted to #34 Jaydon Skipalis and he took the punt 85 yards to the end zone to make the score 13-0 Black Knights as the extra point was missed. A few drives later Skipalis scored again on a 4 yard pitch, the Black Knights went for two and were successful making the score 21-0 with 1:56 remaining in the first quarter.


Skipalis had his second rushing and third total touchdown of the night on a 19-yard touchdown run the extra point was blocked the score was now 27-0 Black Knights 10:19 remaining in the first half. Late into the second quarter the Knights were backed up on the Ranger 42 yard line when #6 Hayden Evans found #22 Christopher Sholtis on a 42-yard touchdown pass the Knights again would go for two and were successful the score was now 35-Lake-Lehman. The teams went into halftime.

The game went into Mercy Rule for the second half and the Rangers received the second half kickoff. The Rangers turned the ball over with a fumble. The Black Knights’s backups were in the game and they ran down the field and capped off the drive with a 10 yard touchdown run by #3 Alex Smith the score was now 42-0 Lehman with 5:00 to go in ther third quarter.
For the third straight week the Rangers would avoid the shutout when Jace McCoy found Loegan Diltz on a 10 yard touchdown pass they tried to go for two but were unsuccessful the score was 42-6 Lehman. The Black Knights would run out the Clock and win.

The (0-3) Rangers travel to Muncy next Friday Night to start division play in the Northern Teir as the play the (2-1) Muncy Indians. Muncy beat Cowanesque valley 45-25 on Friday Night. As for the (2-1) Black Knights they travel to Riverside to play the Vikings.
