SLATINGTON- There was a war of words so-to-speak on social media this week with the debate of boundary vs non-boundary schools being the hot-topic of interscholastic athletics in the state. The motivation for an undefeated, but still an underdog Valley View in their PIAA State quarterfinal matchup with two loss Imhotep Charter was: Community vs Building. Last season Imhotep ended the Cougar season by a 41-0 score at Northern Lehigh.
That statement stirred the ire of the Panthers Saturday afternoon, again at Bulldog Stadium at Northern Lehigh, to inspire a sterling performance by the top 4A program in the state according to PennLive.com to a convincing 37-9 victory and a spot in the state semifinals next week against District XI Champion Bethlehem Catholic at Northeast Philadelphia Supersite.
The Panthers got rolling on their opening drive after forcing a three and out on defense, going 80 yards climaxed with a 23 yard scoring pass from quarterback Jalen Sutton-Christian to D’shaun Seals to jump out to 7-0 lead with 9:47 left in the quarter.

Valley View did mange to drive the ball to the Imhotep 13, but a fourth down and two for a first came up six inches short. On the first play for Imhotep Tykee Smith, a West Virginia recruit got loose and out-ran the Couger secondary for a 87 yard score. The Panthers extended to a 19-0 lead, after a fake punt attempt on 4th and 16 from near midfield came up short. On the ensuing drive Seals took a handoff and proceeded to throw a pass to his receiver Baylor commit Yusuf Terry down the sidelines and raced in for a 47 yard score. Tykee Smith added a 1 yard run with just 44 seconds left in the second quarter.
An Imhotep fumble on their own 17 set up Valley View in great position late in the half, however they could not punch it in and settled for a 27 yard Cam Ceccotti field goal and a 25-3 deficeit at intermission.
The Panthers began to put the game away early in the second half. Taking the second half kickoff and running over four minutes off the clock running back Symear Williams cashed it in from 11 yards out making the score 31-3. The Cougers turned the ball back over on a fumble, which led to a 12 yard pass from Sutton-Christian to Seals and a 37-3 lead.
Valley View, did mange to find the end zone on a 20 yard pass from Janaasah Boone to Dylan Honowitz to close out the scoring.

Sutton-Christian wa a perfect 7 for 7 passing for 75 yards and two touchdowns. The Panthers offense produced 424 yards in the contest.
“We came out to set a statement, we read what was said on social media about the Community against a building.” Imhotep coach Nick Lincoln stated. “We are family here too, these kids are tight and we are focused on getting back to the state championship game.” He concluded.
