Derek Ambrosino goes high in the air to haul in a 14 YD TD Pass from Sr Dominic DeLuca

The Wyoming Area Warriors scored early and often in their season ending rivalry contest with Pittston Area; taking a 45-0 victory on Friday night in West Pittston.
After PA won the toss and deferred; the Warriors drove 67 yards and Sr Darren Rodney started the scoring with a 21 yard dash around left end to make it 7-0 after a Josh Cumbo (SR) conversion with 8:16 left in Q1.  After Soph Jayden Rusyn’s kickoff pinned down PA at their own 2; WA forced a three and out and took possession at the PA 40.  A short drive would end with a Dominic DeLuca (SR) dive over center and Stanley Moderski’s XP would make it 14-0.   The Warriors would close out the first quarter scoring with a crowd pleasing bootleg left from DeLuca to SR Derek Ambrosino and the Rising TE would catch it in stride at the 30 and race 70 yards for the TD; 96 yards total on that pass TD.  WA Went for 2 and converted on a Darren Rodney run and the Warriors never slowed down from that point.

Dom DeLuca picks up some of his 92 first half yards while getting assistance from JR Shawn Kostak (#66) and Sr Riley Rusyn (#4)

Ambrosino; who also would finish with seven solo tackles; including two for loss and two deflections on defense; thrilled the crowd again in the second quarter when he went high in the air in the back of the end zone to corral another DeLuca TD pass; 14 yards on that score.  That followed a 42 yd keeper for score down the home sideline for DeLuca and another 1 Yd TD run for Rodney; who finished the night with 135 yards on 15 carries.  Ambrosino made the most of his two catches; scoring twice and gaining 110 yards.  Dominic DeLuca rushed 8 times for 92 yards and 4-9 for 142 yards and two scores in a half of work.  The Warrior defense allowed only 126 yards during the contest; 60 on the ground and 60 through the air.  Fr Drew Mruk continues to impress on defense; finishing with six solo tackles and one tackle for loss.  The Warriors will enjoy a bye week in the D-2 AAA Playoffs before facing the winner of the Lakeland Chiefs at the Lake Lehman Black Knights on Friday, November 1 st.
