Billy Splain | July 1, 2018
Most of you know me or have seen me on a football field, at a conference, a clinic or anywhere else something involving high school football is happening. My name is Billy Splain and for many years I’ve been the person behind WesternPAFootball.net.
I’m happy to announce that I am now the owner of the site, and we are no longer associated with EasternPAFootball.com. I have a passion for covering high school football, promoting the athletes, programs, and communities. Having the advantage of being involved with 2 sites that covered the entire state allowed me to do that, but I needed to break out on my own so I can do all the things I want to focus on, such as increasing my footprint in the world of PA recruiting to help as many players find their next home. But with a website called WesternPAFootball.net I just couldn’t find a fit to cover the entire state like I have been. However, opportunity presented itself.
The owner of PAfootballnews.com, Chris Kuharski, who also owns nepafootball.com, offered the site to me. Chris says “I acquired PFN to keep it alive, but I didn’t have time to dedicate myself to growing it. I turned the website over to Billy because of his passion for high school football. He will be able to continue Rich’s and Tom’s legacy.”
On Friday, June 28, I covered my first High School football game as the new owner of PFN, the District 4 Coaches Association All-Star game. That was just the first of what will be an exciting collaboration of the two websites. WPA will continue on just as it has, and with PFN I will assemble a cast the will cover the eastern side of Pennsylvania, joining them with my already powerful WPA staff to create a PA Football Network.
Please stay tuned for future announcements and some major changes. Ed Weaver at Circle W Sports is working on giving both websites a much needed face lift, as well as adding some new and innovative features that will allow for even greater coverage of high school football. While WesternPAFootball.net is switching servers, I will use the PFN site for western football updates, as well as some player previews.
